Our team is dedicated to ensuring dignity, comfort and quality of life for both patients and their families. We are currently looking for caring and committed Wellbeing Assistants to provide support to patients and their families within our Sunflower Living Well Day Centre.
🌻 FTE £24,937 - £26,598 (Band 3) plus 20%-night work, 20% Saturday and 40% Sunday/Bank Holiday enhancements.
⏰22.5 per week over 3 days

Earlier in the week we welcomed our brand-new specialist beds onto our Inpatient Unit and the difference they’ve made has been felt immediately. 🛏️🌻

Our patients have already shared how impressed and comforted they are, and it’s been so wonderful to see the impact these beds are having from the very first moments.

🛏️ Another patient kindly shared “It is comfortable and easy to move up and down as needed.”

It’s moments of feedback like this that mean the very most - hearing firsthand just how much comfort and support these beds are already bringing.

Training & Education Facilitator, Natalie shares with us about her role here at East Cheshire Hospice:

“I have been a dedicated member of the Hospice team for nearly two and a half years. As a Registered Nurse and clinical practice educator, I’m committed to advancing education in palliative and end of life care. My role encompasses all Hospice departments, enabling me to work collaboratively with our exceptional internal teams as well as our wider local and national partners.

My responsibilities are varied and include supporting staff in clinical practice, coordinating student placements, developing, and delivering education programmes, reviewing research and clinical standards, and promoting evidence based practice. These activities collectively help ensure that our teams continue to deliver the highest standard of care.

We have significantly enhanced our training offer to support staff in both their personal and professional development. This includes the introduction of a bespoke clinical training matrix and a comprehensive skills portfolio for all clinical staff.”

WORTH Geraldine Patricia

On Saturday 21st February 2026, peacefully at home and in the presence of her loving family, Geraldine aged 64 years.

Beloved and loving Wife of Andy, loving and devoted Mother of Sean, loving Sister of Maire, Fidelma and Terence.

Geraldine will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

The Funeral Service and Committal will take place at 2.45 p.m. on Thursday 26th March at Macclesfield Crematorium.

Family flowers only, by request, but donations may be made, if so desired, in favour of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

KIRBY Dr Carl Edward

On Friday 27th February 2026, peacefully in a local care home, Carl aged 86 years.

Beloved and loving Husband of Lynne, loving Father of Matthew and Joanna, much loved Father-in-Law to Loll and Daniel, devoted Grandfather of Charlie, Harry, Ralphie, Amelie and Cleo and a dear Brother of the late William.

Carl will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

The Funeral Service will take place at 10.15 a.m. on Friday 10th April at The Parish Church of St Paul followed by a private Service of Committal at Macclesfield Crematorium.

Family flowers only, by request, but donations may be made, if so desired, in favour of the Alzheimer’s Society or Macmillan Cancer Support.
