Thank you to the East Cheshire Hospice for all the hard work and dedication that you put into making this year’s Starlight Walk so special and successful. Our team had a lovely evening together. We found it very moving and it was a great team event for us. The setting was beautiful and the refreshments afterwards were excellent. It was astonishing to learn that it costs almost £10,000 every day to run our hospice. Hopefully events like these help to raise awareness within our community and generate funds which are so desperately needed.

NELSON David John

On Sunday, 29th March 2026, peacefully at home with his family, David aged 67 years.

Beloved and loving Husband of Karen, loving Father of Jennifer, Laura, Suzanne, William, Henry and Zach, loving Father-in-Law to Tom, David, Suzy and Kim, devoted Grandfather of Edmund, Jude, Ava, Lexi, River and Bonnie and a much loved Brother of Val, Judy and Chris.

David will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

The Funeral Service will take place at 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 28th April at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Hurdsfield followed by private Interment which will take place at 2.30 p.m. in Macclesfield Cemetery.

Family flowers only, by request, but donations may be made, if so desired, in favour of The Alex Project or the East Cheshire Hospice.

Grief doesn’t follow a set path, and everyone experiences it differently.
