This is Kerri, one of my fabulous members — please take a moment to read her story…
“In March 2025, I decided enough was enough. I wanted to be able to enjoy the rides at Alton Towers and travel without needing a seatbelt extender on a plane. My back, hips and knees were struggling to carry my weight of 24 stone 2.5lbs, and the pain was starting to affect my job.
My friend Jamie told me about Slimming World and the Saturday morning group. He had lost over 3 stone himself, so I decided to go — I knew I had to do something.
I am so proud of myself for sticking to the Slimming World eating plan. Once you get your head around it, you realise you can still enjoy the foods you love — you just learn to cook them differently. I’ve even managed to stay on plan whilst on holiday, and I’ve been away four times in the last year, including two all-inclusive trips.
To date, I’ve lost 7 stone 4lbs and gone from a size 26 to a 16/18. I no longer need a seatbelt extender, and I had an amazing time at Alton Towers in November.
I’ll admit, the Slimming World meals from Iceland have been a godsend, as I wasn’t the most confident in the kitchen. But now I cook most things — and I have beans with everything! 😀
I really enjoy group each week, staying to get involved in all the ideas and support shared. I’ve also made some great friends along the way. As a sociable person, I thought going out for food and drinks would be difficult, but I was wrong…I swapped beer and cider for spirits with a diet mixer, and my go-to meal when eating out is now gammon or chicken with a jacket potato, salad and (of course) beans. Before, it would have been chips, cheesy garlic bread and always a pudding! Now, I curb my sweet cravings with fruit and yoghurt.
My biggest achievement so far has been winning Biggest Loser 2025 in my group.
Slimming World has literally changed my life. I’m healthier, happier, and more determined than ever to reach my target and stay there.
I would highly recommend Slimming World — and I do to everyone. It’s not a diet, it’s a journey… and a very good one to be on.”
Kerri, you are an inspiration to us all — and you look amazing 🤩💖
