Before turning to painting, spent many years working as an actor in theatre, television and documentaries š
That background still shapes how he approaches the canvas today.
For Carraro, a painting is like a stage. Colours become costumes, shapes become actors, and the painter becomes the director guiding the performance.
Many of his works centre around faces and characters, often inspired by small moments observed in everyday life. A passing expression, a stranger on a bus, a fleeting encounter that lingers in memory.
These observations slowly transform into figures on the canvas, carrying fragments of story and emotion.
In this monthās Featured Artist, we explore Carraroās approach to painting, his theatrical influences, and the ideas behind works like Maria Dolores.
Thank you to Siro for letting us share his amazing work!
