Silence In Sound is a performance-based resource for Sound Healing Practitioners, Therapists and Musicians:
we offer practical 1-2-1 and group workshops tailored to the clients needs. Our sound studio, The Singing Bowl Centre is based in Machynlleth, on the Southern tip of the Snowdonia National Park in Wales, UK. Craig & Jacquie Shankster (founders) have studied Sound Therapy and Vibrational Healing in Nepal, USA and UK; Craig has specialised in antique Himalayan 'Singing' Bowls since 1982. Silence in Sound hand-selects practitioner quality Himalayan 'Singing' Bowls and is the original and exclusive UK importer of The Original Singing Gongs; additionally we source genuine tribal and Shamanic sound and ritual instruments during our annual visits to the Himalayas. Silence in Sound is independent of any religious organisation and we respect all belief systems.

STARGATE is hosted and presented by Craig Shankster and Shankara Andy Bole who compose, perform and present a creative sound collaboration under the name SILENTIUM. With decades of experience in the fields of Live Performance, Singing Bowls, Gongs, Electronics, Guitar and other exotic instruments, Craig and Andy will systematically offer detailed and technical guidance throughout the weekend, leaving the participants hungry to further develop their own unique SoundScaping style.

The objective of the weekends programme is to break free from the confines of the "tradititional" idea of what a SoundScape is. With detailed and nurturing guidance you will enhance your existing skillset and extend the compositional boundaries of SoundScaping using an array of stringed and percussive instruments all infused with a good dose of modern technology.

The programme includes -
A closer look at a Gong and Singing Bowl based kit.
A detailed look at microphoning and amplification.
Using modern technology and effects to support and broaden the scope of the SoundScape.
Evening Sound Journeys.
Practical instruction throughout the weekend.
Group exercises.
Discussions and problem solving.

Silence In Sound is a performance-based sound therapy; a ‘Sound Journey’ that utilises the natural harmonics and rhythms of Himalayan Singing Bowls, Nepalese Singing Gongs and other indigenous sound instruments.
