Cupping is a safe, traditional treatment that helps resolve chronic muscle tightness and pain, faster than massage therapy alone.

Treatment this morning:

Tackling an Achilles Tendinopathy - this is an area, in the tendon, of diminished blood supply, leaving it susceptible to discomfort, pain and injury.

I used the "Herringbone Technique" on the tendon (as seen in pictures shown) which reduces pain, stimulates new blood flow and rejuvenation.

Because client also had calf issues (painful tightness), I additionally needled the soleus (mid calf) and both gastrocnemius (top calf) which benefitted the efficiency of the posterior chain by easing the tention found there.

A little information on one of the therapies available at my practice .rad_sports_massage_therapies :

WHAT IS "CUPPING THERAPY"?

✴️A therapy where a vacuumed cup is placed onto the affected area or, almost, any part of the body for treatment purposes.

✴️Aim of treatment is to disperse stagnation and expel pathogenetic factors from the surface layers of the body and promoting the circulation of blood and Qi (vital life energy).

✴️Cupping exerts suction pressure on surface of body and increases blood flow inside cup area and stimulates muscle tissue.

BENEFITS OF CUPPING?🦸

• Relaxes stiff muscles, soft tissues & promotes general well-being 🧘
• Reduce cellulite.
• Releases scar tissue & fascial adhesions.
• Reduce painful trigger points (knots).
