1-1 client Jordan Mawhinney is absolutely smashing it

Jordan came to me to improve his health and fitness and he has done exactly that

Over a stone off so far, looking and feeling better in clothes, has loads more energy, eating better and most importantly loving the process 😃

Today Jordan took 80kg for 5x5 on deadlifts which is fantastic work as he only learnt how to deadlift 4 weeks ago using 40kg so huge progress.👌

Progress being made in the gym weekly, calories being tracked, eating good nutritious food whilst still enjoying the treats we all love so there’s a good life balance.

Jordan has done this by committing to 2 gym sessions per week, nailing the basics and hitting a weekly step goal.

Great work my man, you’ve put in the work and the results are speaking for themselves, very proud to coach you, you’ve a great attitude and you’ll absolutely continue to do great well done buddy 👍

New Year, New Me 👀

Every year you’ll hear people saying they want to make a change to there health, how they look and they are going to be brand new
_
Most of us do not carry out our new year resolutions and then as the years go on become more demotivated
_
This is why it’s important to to identify what you want and then take some steps towards those things now
_
By simply starting the process now you are increasing the likelihood of you continuing to pursue your goal
_
So take some time, think about what you want and then take a few steps now to make the new year a lot easier 😃

Small things done often are no longer small things
_
Doing one extra set, one extra rep or making one change a week makes a huge difference
_
You are making small steps every time to be better than yesterday and that’s a great thing
_
If you made one change to your nutrition a week every week for a week you’d be 52 steps further than you were the year before
_
Do the small things well and they’ll help create the big result you are looking for 👊

Be happy with the people you have in your life and find joy in the things that you love to do
_
If you find the people and the things you do to be as I call it ‘energy vampires’ then remove them from your life and surround yourself with people and interested that give you energy and drive.
_
You are allowed to do whatever you want, so go do it enjoy yourself and have a laugh along the way
_
It’s your life live it on your terms and be in control of what you do with it 😀

Down 3kg, inches and cms of on all body parts and feeling more energetic and stronger than ever before ✅

Chloe decided to compete last minute on Saturday and got personal bests in her squat and deadlift.
_
Very proud to see her progressing in the gym with her training and outside of the gym due to her hard work and commitment to being better
_
We went back to basics and have improved Chloe’s health and fitness and I’m looking forward to seeing further progress over the next few months 😃

Food diaries

Before someone starts personal training with myself I have them do a food diary for a week and tell them to eat normally and be completely honest

What I’ve found is start of the week they eat what they normally have then as the week goes on they make changes

The reason for this is they are seeing in there diary what they are eating and becoming more conscious about the foods they are consuming

So by the end of the week they have started to change things out for better choices

A food diary is a great place to start tracking what you are eating and then make subtle changes to improve your food choices

So If you want to start making better choices get a diary write down everything you eat in a day and then set out to make 1/2 subtle changes a week and you’ll be one step closer to a healthier fitter you 😃

Bang for buck!!!

When you are training and wanting to lose fat you don’t want to waste time isolating individual muscle groups

You need to get in and get as much work done as you can in the period of time you are training

There is no point going in for an hour and sitting on your phone for 20 minutes if that’s the only activity you are going to get all day

Get in, be efficient, choose big movements which will recruit loads of muscle groups and do this for sets and reps and you’ll be a lot more efficient.

Start today, work hard for lots of sets and reps, nail your big movements and watch the pounds drop off 😃

When approaching training so many people love to stick to the same exercises as this is what they are comfortable with.
_
What people should be looking for is what/where they are weak at and look to improve
_
By working on weaknesses and improving your existing strengths you will have less imbalances and be able to achieve more as you have less chinks in your armour
_
Don’t be afraid to audit yourself as in the end if you act upon your weaknesses you’ll be better off in the end 👍
