So many patients ask - what makes it seem easy to get results, it seems like magic....

How do you do that?!

I usually say - I feel it. And that is true. And also, what I seldom mention, is that supporting that is loads of continuous studying.

What a lot of people don't appreciate is that yes, talent and having a gift can help. And yet - it's nothing without discipline, effort and both of those on a continuous daily basis.

Here's a bit of extra reading I've been doing about ankles - anatomy, biomechanics, etc.

If you can't follow it past the first paragraph, that's ok. Osteopaths train for years to be able to understand the body, it's language and the medical lingo and I still learn new things about the body every single day (there's so much to learn!).

Here's to always learning - I know I'll always be an eternal student.

Next block of the stretch & flexibility course starts this Weds 6th March.

It will run for 10 weeks

Time:
8.15pm on Wednesday evenings
Venue:
upstairs in Meadowbank

Investment of £100 - please pay up ahead or pay as you go £10/session.

This can help to improve your range of movement, flexibility, stability & as a result prevent injuries.

Learn tried & tested stretches & flexibility & core strength from an osteopath.

Some breathwork is included to help aid relaxation, flexibility & stretching.

My background - more of an endurance sports person.

Heres a bit of what I've done to give you an idea of my background - I've done a few different kinds of sports so have an understanding of several kinds. This means I can tailor stretches & flexibility to your sport together with my knowledge of biomechanics & anatomy.

Mostly hiking in nature - normally 3hr hikes from the age of 6. Progressed to 6hr hikes by the time I was in my teens.

Previous sports I've done include
horse riding (6 years)
ballet (7 years)
hockey (5 years)
athletics - sprint, 400, 800 & 1600m long distance (8 years)
kayaking (8 years)
surfing (3 years)
cycling (4years at 80miles+/week)
hiking (normally 3-6hr hikes with an elevation of 1.5km)

I was lucky enough to also be able to learn & teach ballroom & Latin American dance for 2 years before studying osteopathy (dancing for 5-10hr days).

Currently more of a hiker & lifting weights few times a week mixed with walking, Pilates & yoga sessions on most days.

13 sleep inducing foods

Worth a try - some best eaten an hour or two before bed (see the list below).

Great alternatives to less nutritious snacks before bed

No judgement here (how do you think I found this article?!? 🙈😂🤣)

Turns out most of these are my favourites - only many of them I've been eating for breakfast or before lunch 😁🤣

Need help nodding off? A handful of cherries could help.

A little parenting hack & brain hack - this could be useful over Christmas for any emotional outbursts from kids from too much stress, too many sweets, too many people, toys, overwhelm, too much... Whatever it is

No shame here - useful at any time of the year

1. QTIP (quit taking it personally - it's not about you, it's just how their brain works. Repeat - it's not about you and your skills as a human or parent)
2. Empathy first (hear your kids out)
3. Put the boundary in place.

And remember - kids need to play to learn and move on average 3hrs a day. Each area - not collectively.

Repeat this advice in video below till they're age 25 haha 😆😂

Just had a bunch of marathon runners in, all very happy with course content and feeling more mobile & less achy by the end of the course.

This course is aimed at anyone who feels the need to move & stretch more, and increase stability & mobility - from office workers to athletes. I can tailor it for you.

Pic below for attention as info on it from last course (updated flyer to follow).

It may hurt, but exercise is beneficial for joints, experts say in guidance for doctors and patients.

Thank you everyone for your support throughout this last year.

The clinic is fully booked for the first 2 weeks in January. I have started a waiting list so any cancellations due to seasonal colds/flu etc can be given at short notice.

🎄⛄Christmas hours ☃️🎄
Closed from Dec 24th to Jan 1st

The clinic will remain open in January as osteopathy is classed as a medical service.

Please be considerate and cancel if you are unwell, have seasonal flu/cold symptoms or covid symptoms.

Thank you

Hi everyone, an update in current conditions with lockdowns.

Osteopathic services are classed as a medical service.

* The clinic will remain open *

🎄⛄Christmas hours 🎄⛄
closed from 24th December to 1st January

The only restrictions on osteo/chiro services are in Tier 3/4 if you practice within a “restricted business” required to close, such as a gym. No restrictions other than that currently.

We are also listed as exempt (under “healthcare professionals”) from local authority powers to close individual premises.

Stricter cleansing protocols are required when we have the clinic in a residential setting which I have already been practising since May 2020.

Osteopaths are required to wear full PPE (scrubs, visor, mask, apron and gloves).

We are currently unable to see you if you are shielding or classed as vulnerable or have an underlying pre-existing medical condition (lung, heart or diabetes). We are able to see most other people.
However, we are assessing each individual case prior to booking in to assess the medical need.

You are able to travel to attend an appointment as it is a medical service.

Any questions, feel free to get in touch.
I look forwards to helping you if you need to book in 🙂
