Today, we pause for Remembrance Sunday 🌺.

Let's take a moment to honour the incredible courage and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, past and present. We remember those who gave their lives and those who continue to serve to protect our freedom 🙏.

We've been out and about to capture some of the wonderful poppy memorial displays in our local area - people are just amazing!

We Will Remember Them🕯️.

🐎 Remembering the Unsung Heroes: The War Horses 🐴

As we prepare for Remembrance Sunday, our thoughts turn to all the brave souls who served and sacrificed. But let's take a moment to specifically remember the War Horses.

Lest we forget them.

As we enter the annual remembrance period - let's learn about The War Horse Memorial, in Ascot.

Did you know, it is the first national memorial dedicated to the millions of UK, Commonwealth and Allied horses, mules and donkeys lost during The Great War. It pays tribute to the nobility, courage, unyielding loyalty and immeasurable contribution these animals played in giving us the freedom of democracy we all enjoy today, and signifies the last time the horse would be used on a mass scale in modern warfare.

The horse, named Poppy, is larger than life, and sculpted from bronze, by British sculptor Susan Leyland.

You can find out more here:

📍The War Horse Memorial is located on the major Ascot roundabout opposite Ascot Racecourse. Postcode: SL5 8AA.

This was such a great event, full of really useful information for people on a dementia journey and their carers. It was great networking with others providers within the Bracknell Forest area and speaking to carers who have first hand experience of the different areas of support that are available.

My single takeaway from the day was a tip from someone who had cared for a loved one and said when out and about, take a photo of them in the clothes they are wearing that day, if they wander off, then it's much easier to just show the photo to the emergency services. 👍

Thanks you forest Bracknell Forest Dementia Advisory Service for organising such an informative event 👏👏

Lovely to drop into a packed Bracknell Forest Dementia Forum on Friday, and hear about all the support available

It was also moving to have a chance to speak with those living with dementia and their carers, about their experience

Happy World Sandwich Day! 🥪 A Caregiver's Best Friend!

We celebrate the humble sandwich – a surprisingly versatile and easy meal, especially when caring for elderly loved ones!

They are easy to eat and a definite favourite with our clients, using soft breads and fillings that are gentle on teeth and gums. As well as being quick & convenient for busy caregivers or for when our client's appetite is low.

Do you have a favourite sandwich? Share your ideas below! 👇
