The darkness will always be there.
It's nothing to fear.
Darkness is merely an absence of light.
In the light we find love and from the darkness we learn how to love.
There has to be a balance between dark and light.
The balance has been out of kilter but the light has always been there.
Don't fear, the light is growing.
Shine your light bright.
Step out of fear and into love.
It's the only way this world will change.
And trust me, it IS changing ❤️

To help your light shine, take time for self-care =

✨ Focus on your breath
✨ Dance
✨ Move your body
✨ Laugh
✨ Meditate
✨ Get out in nature

So much love ❤️

It's time to step into the new version of yourself. The version who knows how important she is. The version who is ready to shed the layers of trauma and stress and feel free. The version who knows how limitless the possibilities of her future are.

It's time.

You're free and powerful. Are you ready to be that version of yourself?

It is so common to find yourself stuck in this state of the nervous system for a prolonged period time.

To feel like you're constantly under attack.

Work. Family. Society. Emails. Messages. Social media.

What's so amazing is that over time your CAN come out of fight or flight and back in the calm, safety state. The state where you actually want to be sociable, where you feel joy, peace, contentment, grounded in the present moment 😌

All states of the nervous system are important.

You're going to need to flee if you're about to be hit by a car or fight if you're trapped in a burning building but you don't want to be there all the time.

There is hope! ❤️

Try this very simple steps:

Place your hand on your chest, soften your eyes, relax your jaw and focus on your breath for 30 seconds.

When you do this, love chemicals like dopamine, oxytocin and seratonin are released, and these chemicals actually dissolve the stress chemicals like cortisol.

Dopamine dissolves cortisol.
Love transcends fear.

This is science! And you can't argue with that 😉

I love this course and can't wait to keep sharing more! ✨✨✨

Walk barefoot on the Earth.

Breathe in the scent of the earth, the trees.

Feel the leaves under your feet; the coolness, the roughness. Feel it all.

See the colours. See how they make you smile.

Taste the dampness. The cool air on your tongue.

Hear the sound of your footsteps, the breeze through the branches, the animals.

Make your journey a walking meditation.

Come back to our beautiful planet and home to yourself ❤️

Crying is important. It's necessary.

Throughout our childhood we're told:

"don't cry"
"chin up"
"that's enough now"
"you're so sensitive"

But crying is a release. And if we don't cry, our emotions (which are essentially energy in motion) get stuck. Trauma cannot be processed or moved out of the body.

I have recently learnt that there are three types of tears:

💧Basal tears – Constantly produced to keep the eye moist and protected

💧Reflex tears – Triggered by irritants to flush out the eye

💧Emotional tears – Produced in response to feelings like sadness, joy, frustration, or physical pain

Now this is amazing...!

Emotional tears contain cortisol, the stress hormone - which means that when you cry you are automatically releasing stress in your body!

How incredible is that?!

So if you're feeling stressed, go watch a soppy film and have a good cry. There's a reason you feel better afterwards ❤️

I wasn't impulsive.

❄️ My nervous system was keeping me in a 'freeze' state to protect me. (This state is often associated with depression, dissociation, procrastination and shut down mode.)

I was so stuck that making decisions was so bloody hard and it was just easier to act impulsively to get stuff done!

If anyone feels this way, or has felt this way in the past, this is NORMAL - you're not broken ❤️

🧠 Your nervous system is keeping you safe, physically, emotionally and mentally. Science tells us that when we sense we're in danger - it might not be actual, physical danger - the brain shuts down in the rational, thinking part (not going to get too technical here!) and the emotional part, and it's essentially just trying to keep your body alive.

Thank goodness for the freeze state, it's exactly what we need our brain to do if we're in a life-threatening situation and just need to keep the heart beating, lungs breathing etc.

What we don't want is to be stuck in that state for a long period of time...

What can you do to safely and gradually move out of the freeze state?

1. Close your eyes or soften your gaze towards the earth
2. Relax your jaw
3. Breathe into your heart

It's so simple ❤️
