🚨 Prescription Update – Please Read 🚨

We’re still experiencing system issues that are causing delays with prescriptions. We know this is frustrating, and we’re so sorry for the inconvenience. Our team is working incredibly hard to get your medications out as quickly—but most importantly, as safely—as possible.

⏳ We’re currently working to a 5 working day turnaround.

📅 If you send your request after 1pm the 5 working days start from the next day. Bank Holidays and Weekends are not working days so do not get included.

❌ Please don’t come in before the 5 days—your prescription won’t be ready.

⚠️ Some prescriptions are still being lost in the system. If this happens to yours, we’re doing everything we can to fix it quickly.

📌 Please remember: prescription requests are NOT automatic. You must request them each time—whether by:
- Ticking the boxes and handing in your repeat slip when you collect
- Using the NHS App
- Dropping your request into the repeat box outside our front door

💡 Need it faster? Ask us to send your prescription electronically to the NHS Spine. Any pharmacy of your choice can download it—just give them your name and NHS number. This can be helpful if you're travelling or need urgent medication.

🙏 We truly appreciate your patience and kindness to our staff during this time. Thank you for bearing with us 💙

📊 Understanding Patient Need Groups (PNGs)

You may notice a new test result in your NHS App referring to Patient Need Groups or risk stratification. This is simply a way we group patients based on their health needs—helping us provide more personalised and timely care.

There are 11 groups, ranging from those who are generally healthy to those with more complex needs. Your group may change over time, and no action is needed from you.

PNGs are automatically assigned using your health record and are used as a guide to support your care—not as a diagnosis.

🍌Nasal Flu Clinic Fun!🍌

We were so impressed by all the brave little ones who came to our children’s nasal flu clinic last week—you were amazing! From big smiles to calm noses, you handled it like champions. Nurse Louise brought extra cheer dressed as a Minion, and the fun was contagious (in the best way!).

We’re doing it all again on Saturday 4th October, and we still have spaces available! Nurse Louise will be back in her Minion costume, and Nurse Sophie might just join her as a banana 🍌—because flu protection should be fun!

👶 Eligibility: Children aged 2–3 years who are registered at Yalding Surgery
📲 Booking: Use the self-booking link we’ve sent or call reception on 01622 814380

Let’s keep those little noses protected—with a smile! 😊

👋 Meet The Team Monday

Say hello to Sophie, one of our brilliant nurses here at Yalding Surgery! We asked Sophie some questions to help you get to know her better 💙

🩺 What inspired you to become a nurse?
“One of my earliest memories—around age 3—is seeing a child fall off a tall slide (this was the ’70s, so no health and safety!). They were wrapped in a fur coat while waiting for the ambulance, and that moment stuck with me. That was it!”

☕ Go-to drink for a busy day?
“Diet Coke in the morning, then cold water to keep me going.”

👟 One thing you always have with you at work?
“A pen and paper—I have a memory like a sieve! If I don’t write it down, I won’t remember once you’ve gone!”

🌳 How do you relax after work?
“I’ve gone a bit wild lately! I’ve started making jam, I take a foraging bag on dog walks, and I’ve just picked up crocheting. I also love a good James Patterson novel.”

🎧 What are you listening to right now?

“Alex Warren, and when I’m crocheting, David Tennant’s podcast.”
