👩‍⚕️ Blood Test Results 💉

Just to let you know, our process for sharing blood test results is changing.

• By the end of March, we will no longer send text messages for normal blood test results 📱
Normal results don’t require any action, so once this change is in place, you won’t be contacted.

• During the transition period, you may still receive a text about normal results while we move over to the new system.

• You can view your results on the NHS App once they’ve been reviewed by a clinician.
It’s usually the quickest way to check them. If you currently don't use your online services, use the link below to apply 👇

• If you prefer, you can call the surgery after 2pm to ask about your results 📞

• If any results are abnormal or need a follow up, the surgery will contact you.
This may be a message to your NHS App, a text or a call from reception asking you to book an appointment, depending on what the clinician advises.

So no news is good news — and you may still receive normal-result texts until the new system is fully in place.

🌿 Yalding Surgery – Improving Access for Our Patients 🌿

👩‍⚕️ We now have extra GP appointments every Tuesday with a PCN GP, offering a mix of telephone and face‑to‑face slots. Face‑to‑face appointments take place at Old School Surgery, Cranbrook and are for new, non‑complex, short‑term issues.

👨‍⚕️ As a reminder, Saturday Hub appointments are also available at Old Parsonage Surgery, Goudhurst providing weekend access for suitable acute issues — always with a GP from within our PCN.

📞 We also offer same‑day evening telephone appointments (same criteria as the other services), ideal if you need to speak with a clinician outside normal hours.

If you need an appointment, just contact the surgery and our team will guide you to the best option.

Yalding Surgery is part of the West Kent Primary Care Network, working together with local practices to improve access and bring more services to our community.

We’d like to remind all our patients of our opening hours over the festive season:

Christmas Eve (Wednesday 24th Dec): 8am – 6:30pm

Christmas Day (Thursday 25th Dec): ❌ Closed

Boxing Day (Friday 26th Dec): ❌ Closed

Monday 29th Dec – Wednesday 31st Dec: 8am – 6:30pm

New Year’s Day (Thursday 1st Jan): ❌ Closed

Friday 2nd Jan: Normal hours resume: 8am – 6:30pm

*Between 1–2pm, our reception has quiet hours to allow them to catch up with administration tasks. We would appreciate it if you are able to come back at 2pm however if you do need to speak to reception, knock loudly or call us on 01622 814380*

📢 Patient Notice – Medication Collection
We are seeing a large amount of uncollected medication on our shelves. To help us manage this and ensure patients receive their prescriptions promptly, please note the following:

1. If it has been 5 working days since you placed your order, please come and collect your medication.

2. Working days do not include weekends or bank holidays.

3. If your request was submitted after 1pm, please allow an extra day before collection.

📱Text Message Notifications 📱

- We understand that many text messages are not being received. We believe this is due to poor signal in the village.

- Some patients are assuming their medication is not ready because they have not received a text.

Please be assured: if you have submitted a request, your medication will be ready after 5 working days, regardless of whether you receive a text message.

Please remember that medication requests are NOT automatic – you must put in a request before collection.

✅ To avoid delays and ensure smooth service, please collect your medication promptly after the 5‑day period.

We had to take a short break, but over the next few weeks we’ll be introducing more of our wonderful staff so you can get to know the people behind the scenes.

This week, say hello to Kayley, one of our amazing GP receptionists. Kayley joined us around 2 months ago and has already become such a valued part of the team.

“I really enjoy meeting new people every day and being part of such a fast‑paced environment. No two days are ever the same, and I love learning new skills, and you get to learn many here”

“I’ve always been a caring person, and helping others genuinely makes me feel fulfilled. Before joining the surgery, I worked in community care for 17 years, so supporting people has always been at the heart of what I do.”
