Yesterday, we had a fantastic time celebrating National Saxophone Day, dedicated to the incredible Adolphe Sax, the genius behind the saxophone. Charlie Sax dropped by and played amazingly, adding a special touch to the festivities. It was such a lively celebration of one of music’s most beloved instruments!

To celebrate the harvest festival, our residents had a lovely time painting pumpkins, playing Bingo, and singing along with our wonderful singer, Harmony. There was even a prize for the most beautifully decorated pumpkin!

Our team at Cavell Park attended a very informative training session held by Ilona Tomza, our Group Development Chef, all about good nutrition, protein consumption, dysphasia and cutlery-free dining.

We wanted to share how much fun we had this Wednesday afternoon with our wonderful volunteer, Joy. We're so fortunate to have Joy come visit us each week; she brings such happiness and fun to our home. Usually, our Wednesdays are filled with exciting Bingo games and quizzes, all topped off with plenty of prizes to be won 💕

Do you know the signs of a stroke? 🤔

During their lifetime, 1 in 4 people will have a stroke, so it is important to know the signs. This year, the focus of is that every minute counts when faced with symptoms of a stroke.

The symptoms of a stroke can be remembered with the simple acronym, FAST.

F - Face drooping 🫤
A - Arm weakness 🙋🏻‍♂️
S - Speech difficulties 🗣️
T - Time to call 999 📞

Everybody should be ready to so that we can be stroke.

Today, we marked World Stroke Day by inviting our local community, stroke survivors, and the Mayor to join us at our home. West Kent Stroke Group volunteers hosted a wonderful gathering, and Jacqui White shared helpful information about the symptoms, prevention and treatment of strokes. It was a fantastic chance for everyone to connect and speak with others who have been through similar experiences. A big thank you to the Orida Hotel for kindly donating a lovely afternoon tea for the raffle winner!

We had such a fun morning of arts and crafts today!🎨

We got creative by designing and painting mugs, and they turned out looking really lovely.😊☕

Oh, and guess what? We also have a brand new Connect 4 champion!🏆
