⏱️ Feeling too busy to get that pain checked?

That’s often when it starts to build.

Most appointments take around 30 minutes, and people usually go straight back to work or their normal routine afterwards.

A short session now can stop something minor turning into something that lingers for much longer, especially at this time of year when everything is a bit more demanding.

If something has been bothering you for a while, it’s worth getting it looked at.

🎄 CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY 🎄

This time of year can be busy for families, so I wanted to offer something that might genuinely help.

I’m giving away one free cranial/osteopathic appointment for a baby or young child at the clinic this December.

Cranial work is gentle and calming, and can be helpful for little ones who seem unsettled, tense, or not quite themselves.

If you know a child who might benefit, feel free to nominate them.

How to enter:
🎄 Like or follow this page
🎄 Tag someone who may want to enter
🎄 Tell me a little about the child you’re nominating (age + what they might need support with)

Share this post for an extra entry.

The giveaway closes 31st December 2025.
I’ll announce the winner in the New Year once the clinic reopens.

The appointment must be booked before 30th January 2026.
(Prize is for one child session, not transferable and not exchangeable for cash or another service.)

Why do I ask so many questions at an appointment? 🤔

Finding and treating the sore area is usually the easy part. The real work is understanding why it started and that often sits in the small details you might not think matter.

I was chatting with a patient recently who’d just got back into the gym 🏋️‍♂️and was working on a lot of “kettlebell swings.”

Straightaway, that told me a bit more.

If the swings are slightly too heavy, or the hips are tired, the lower back ends up taking the load with every rep.

Do that often enough and the back will eventually complain, especially if it was already a little sensitive.

So, I asked if the pain ever showed up during those swings, they said, “yes. The answer to that one question gave me an insight into what the problem was.

That’s why I ask the questions I do.🤔

It helps join the dots between what you’re doing day to day and how your body is reacting. 🔍

Once you understand the “why”, the “what to do next” becomes much clearer.

Have you noticed pain showing up with a particular movement? Where does it happen, and what usually sets it off?

A lot of people put off booking because they think we’re going to tell them to stop training.

We’re not. ❌

If you’re a runner, you go to the gym, or your job keeps you active, the last thing you want is someone telling you to rest and we understand that. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

The aim isn’t to stop you. It’s to work out what’s causing the pain and keep you moving while things settle. ✅

If you’ve got a ni**le that keeps showing up when you train, that’s usually your body telling you something needs a bit of attention.

If you’d like us to take a look, then give us a call 01622 631401 or you can book online.

We tend to see a lot of shoulder pain in clinic. For most people, it doesn’t start with an injury; it builds up over time.

It might be you feel a bit of stiffness when you reach out for something or a dull ache when you lift or a click now and again. Then all of a sudden, it just won’t move properly.

It’s rarely just one thing. Sometimes it’s posture, sometimes muscle imbalance; often it’s both.

We look for what’s behind the pain and not just the sore spot, so we can get you moving comfortably again and stop it from returning.

Do you get shoulder pain that comes and goes?

And if it does, what tends to set it off?

Great feedback from one of our sports clients, showing just how much consistent treatment helps keep athletes performing at their best.

At our clinic, we support both professional and recreational sports clients through:

✔️ Targeted osteopathic treatment
✔️ Sports and deep tissue massage
✔️ Injury prevention and recovery planning
✔️ Mobility and conditioning advice

Regular maintenance keeps the body moving well and reduces the risk of setbacks.

If you’re carrying a ni**le that isn’t settling, give us a call.

If you’re struggling with pain and finding it hard to get comfortable, you don’t have to wait weeks for help.

When you’re in pain, waiting doesn’t help.

We always keep a few spaces each week for people who need to be seen quickly, often the same week, sometimes the next day.

It means we can get things looked at and help you feel more comfortable sooner, rather than sitting it out.

If you need an appointment, just give us a call or book online.

We’ll always do our best to get you in as soon as possible.

Do you find your baby sometimes cries for no obvious reason or just doesn’t seem comfortable no matter what you try? 👶

Some babies hold a bit of tension from birth especially after a long or tricky delivery.

It doesn’t always mean something’s wrong, it just means their body’s a little tight in places.

You might notice they prefer one side, feed more easily on one breast than the other, or struggle to lie flat.

Sometimes they arch their back, pull up a shoulder, or find it hard to turn their head evenly.

Cranial osteopathy is a very gentle form of treatment that helps ease that tension so babies can feel more comfortable.

It uses light touch with no clicking or force to help the body relax and release strain around the head, neck or spine.

Most babies find it calming and often drift off to sleep during treatment. 😴

The aim is simple: to help them feed, settle and sleep more comfortably at home.

If you’ve noticed any of these signs, it could be tension from birth, something we often see and can help with. 💛

When temperatures drop, your back tends to tighten—overnight warmth is lost, and your muscles go into protective “freeze mode.” It’s not just you—it’s physiological.

Here’s what's happening under your skin:

Muscle tightening: Cold causes your muscles, tendons, and ligaments to contract to preserve heat, making them less flexible and more prone to stiffness, especially after a night's rest.

Reduced blood flow: Blood vessels constrict in low temperatures, slowing circulation to your spine and delaying recovery from daily micro-strains.

Increased pain sensitivity: Cooler weather heightens nerve sensitivity—what was mild yesterday may feel sharper today.

Cold and stiffness aren’t your fault—they're your body's way of protecting you. The fix? Gentle morning movement, mindful warmth, and expert care when needed.
