Friday Fact ( I’m asked this question so often)

Does the coffin get cremated ?

The coffin is cremated along with the body in a process called the "charging". It is destroyed by the intense heat of the cremator, and little to no remains of the coffin are left. Any metal from the coffin is removed after the cremation process, along with any other non-cremateable items like medical implants.

Some families view the charging at the crematorium.

Friday fact.
Why is black associated with a funeral ?
People wear black to funerals to show respect, solemnity, and grief, this has been a long standing tradition.
This dates back to the ancient times, it was heavily influenced by Queen Victoria after her husbands death, and today helps to create a sense of unity and focus on the purpose of the event.
While still popular, many families are more relaxed and ask friends and family to wear the loved ones favourite colour.
