A lot of people say their water intake reduces during the winter months. Are you one of these people? 🤔
Our bodies are approximately 60% water (give or take variations between men and women). With over half of our body percentage is water, doesn’t it make sense to make sure we keep those levels topped up? 🙏
The benefits of being hydrated are many; a few of which are:
💚 it helps lubricate the joints;
💚 it delivers oxygen throughout the body;
💚 it can help re weight loss and controlling cravings;
💚 it boosts skin health and beauty;
💚 the digestive system depends on it (think of constipation!);
💚 it helps maintain blood pressure; and
💚 it can help our brain to function well.
So, just think of what happens to our body when we don’t maintain our water levels: it affects our brain, kidneys and digestive system; we can be more prone to UTIs; it can affect our mood, our strength and our stamina; the skin and muscle tone and our blood pressure (to name just a few) 😔
Think of your body as a car and oil in the engine is the equivalent to water in the body. If we want to drive our car, we need to make sure oil levels are sufficient. Failing to do so will cause the engine to seize. If the car engine is our body – this is what lack of water (oil) will do to our body (our engine).
