Surgeon visitation and training are integral to upholding excellence in patient care and advancing surgical practice. Exposure to established centres allows surgeons to observe best practice, refine skills, and gain insight into varied clinical approaches, while structured training ensures these competencies are developed in a safe and effective manner. Together, these initiatives promote continuous professional development, foster meaningful collaboration between institutions, and support the thoughtful adoption of emerging technologies for the benefit of patients. I am grateful for the opportunity to support and contribute to this important aspect of surgical education. Ali Abdelwahab

Two days of learning and interacting with surgeons from all over the world. Time to share the amazing work done and discuss newer trends and manage complex cases. Thank you to for the meeting and the hospitality. Highlight was listening to the great Giles Walch on his thoughts about 40 years of experience on development and research on shoulder arthroplasty. Thank you.

A new chapter in my involvement with helping sportsmen has begun — this time with rugby.

What started as an informal chat with Amber Claire Baugh soon led to introductions to Harry Holder and Michael Wooldridge, and ultimately to my first visit to Sevenoaks Rugby Club a fortnight ago. I returned yesterday and was truly honoured to be presented with the ‘Oaks’ jacket.

I’m grateful for the warm welcome and excited to take my first steps in supporting the players.
Looking forward to the next game and to contributing more to this fantastic club.

✈️ Heading to Madrid!

Excited to be travelling to Madrid this week to take part in a shoulder cadaver course with Exactech 🇪🇸.

It’s always a privilege to teach and collaborate with colleagues who are passionate about advancing shoulder surgery. These hands-on sessions highlight how innovation and technology continue to push the boundaries of what we can achieve for our patients.

A huge thank you to the Exactech UK team for driving education and innovation in shoulder reconstruction — and for creating opportunities to share knowledge and explore new ideas together. Eric Astoin Pali Chahal Mark Portis Jaime Cox Franceschi Francesco
