It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… 🎄✨

Last night was our Christmas meal out . Good food, festive cheer, lots of laughter, and an incredible team of OTs – each one adding their own magic to the table.

From left to right we have Carly, Beth, Helen, Aaron, Hannah, Charlotte, Laura, Jenne, and just missing our Cat! 🫶🏽 together we are the Great Little OT Practice

What a team 🤩🎄

Our work is varied here at the Great Little OT Practice. Here’s just a snippet of some the play based sessions that have taken place across schools, homes and clinic.

We support children and young people from 0–25 years, using a wide range of approaches from bimanual therapy sessions to sensory-based activities, equipment assessments to postural care programmes, and everything in between.

But there is one thing that never changes.

The child is always central. 🤍

Their needs. Their pace. Their world. Their idea of fun and play.

That’s what guides our work, every single week.

✨ We are super excited to announce we have a new team member! ✨

👋🏻Hi, I’m Hannah…
I’m a paediatric OT who qualified in 2006. I’ve spent nearly two decades working across the NHS and private healthcare, supporting children, young people, adults and their families.

My main areas of interest are autism and ADHD, and I am very passionate about using neuro affirming, strengths based approaches and language. I am proud to be a huge advocate for our fantastic neurodivergent community and I celebrate every person just as they are. I also believe that parents and carers are the experts in their own children.

Outside of OT, you’ll usually find me:
🎮 gaming
👧 playing with my energetic daughter
🐕 walking my dog
🧩 doing puzzle games
🍫 or eating way too much chocolate

We are thrilled to have Hannah and her wealth of experiencing joining the team. 💜

At The Great Little OT Practice, we’re passionate about supporting the next generation of occupational therapists. Hosting students on placement is such a rewarding way to invest in the future of our profession.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been thrilled to have Ellie and Linda from Essex University with us. Ellie has put together a fab “sneak peek” video, giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse of their week. It’s a super mix of neuro, sensory, school- and home-based paediatric OT, working alongside different therapists, and offers a really well-rounded experience of life as a paediatric OT and all the ways we can support children in our role.

Thanks for this Ellie!

Guess the OT? 🤩 Another week, another GLOT baby to share with you! 🫶🏻🫶🏽

This time we’re featuring our 80s boy who grew up rollerblading, fishing with his grandad, and exploring everything the Yorkshire/Lancashire border had to offer.

Fast forward, and he’s now the brain behind the GLOT practice, a mega CrossFit fanatic, and an all-round fab human and incredible OT 🧠💪✨

Sadly, the hair he once had didn’t quite make it into adulthood… but he totally rocks it 🏋️‍♂️

Come on… any guesses who today’s GLOT baby is? 👶✨

Florence showing off her new wheelchair upgrades! ✨ A deep-contour Spex cushion and lateral pads for comfort and Postural support… but can we also take a moment for the leopard-print wheels 🐆

As OTs, comfort and postural support always come first but we also want our young people to feel confident, empowered, and proud of the equipment that supports their independence. We know that feeling secure and proud of your chair makes all the difference.

Function and style matter. 💛
And Florence has both nailed.
