This little 90s cool chick has a childhood adventure most of us can only dream of - she spent two years living in France as a kid, soaking up the culture, the language and all the fun that came with it. 🇫🇷✨

And here’s the real show-stopper: she’s been skiing every single year since she was just THREE years old… what a skill, and what a commitment to the slopes! 🎿

In the therapy room, she brings that same energy and confidence to her work. She’s a super-sensory OT, blending knowledge, intuition and playful brilliance to support every child who walks through our doors. 🌈🧠💛

Take a little peek into a therapy session with our OT, Helen! 💛

The body sock challenge was so much fun for Millie with lots of giggles, big movements and a whole bundle of sensory goodness. ✨

Such a playful way to get those core muscles working, build body awareness and provide regulating deep pressure input all at the same time 💪🏼

This week’s Guess the OT! 🕵️‍♀️✨

This little 80s babe grew up surrounded by four gorgeous Irish Setters 🐶🐶🐶🐶 a busy, joy-filled household to say the least!

At age 5 she moved to Essex from Manchester, and although she first trained as a Primary School Teacher, destiny clearly had other plans… 👀

Some children are simply sunshine in human form ☀️
brought so much joy during his OT sessions! Here is a snippet of a fine motor and sensory play activity last week 🤩

With just the right support at the right time, children flourish. ✨ That is what Occupational Therapy is all about. Meeting a child exactly where they are, seeing their strengths, and offering the gentle, responsive support that helps them shine even brighter ☀️

In honour of here is to the children who brighten our sessions, and to the Occupational Therapists who nurture play, joy and confidence every single day. 💛

Did you guess that last week’s OT was our lovely Charlotte? 💛 That little cutie in the pics grew into a true sensory guru with extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children, she is also trained in ADOS assessments and provides our team with unbeatable expertise!

✨ Magic moments in the tent for Percy ✨

Today’s session with OT Aaron was all about connection through the senses and a sprinkle of autumn magic 🍂

Inside the dark tent, Percy explored light, colour and movement, a perfect space to practise visual tracking, scanning and focus, while feeling safe and calm 🌈

On the therapy bench, core strength and gentle spinal mobilisation, weaving movement into play to build balance and posture 💪

They finished with some autumnal craft - hands busy, hearts happy, and the perfect way to end a session filled with curiosity and joy 🎨🍁

Every moment in play holds a purpose, and every purpose begins with play 💛

Today we’re celebrating World Occupational Therapy Day 2025 💚 and this year’s theme, Occupational Therapy in Action couldn’t describe our work more perfectly. 🌍✨

At the Great Little OT Practice, we see OT in Action every single day.

It’s a therapist down on the floor, following a child’s lead through play.

It’s supporting children to explore their world through movement and sensory experiences, helping them to feel calm, connected, and confident in their bodies.

It’s adapting environments so participation feels possible.

It’s empowering families to find joy and confidence in everyday moments.

It’s celebrating small steps that lead to big milestones.

Occupational Therapy in Action is all about empowering children to do, be, and belong. Creating opportunities for growth, inclusion, and meaningful participation in the moments that matter most. 💫

☕✨ Another lovely coffee morning at SNAP last week

Jenne, Aaron and our MSc OT student Pari joined families to share knowledge and insights around sensory processing; exploring how our senses influence everyday experiences including play, regulation and connection

This session’s featured resource was the body sock💚
As Occupational Therapists, we assess sensory processing needs and apply sensory strategies and support children to use tools like the body sock safely and purposefully to help with calming, body awareness and confidence in movement.

It was wonderful to see families engaging, asking questions and exploring how small sensory adjustments can make such a difference to everyday play and routines💜
