Could Vitamin D play a role in bladder control? 🤔

Recently, an 84-year-old client returned for her appointment two months after we recommended she start taking 4000 IU of Vitamin D daily.

She shared something unexpected…
Her night-time bladder leakage had completely stopped.

Curious about this, we looked into the research. Studies suggest that low Vitamin D levels may contribute to:
- overactive bladder and incontinence in both adults and children.
- muscle strength, including the pelvic floor muscles.

Suggesting that correcting low Vitamin D levels, may be a low-risk strategy to support post-menopausal women experiencing urge incontinence.
Of course, supplementation should always be done carefully.

💊Antacids and PPIs (such as omeprazole and lansoprazole) reduce stomach acid to ease heartburn and indigestion.
🗓️With long-term use, this acid suppression can reduce absorption of iron, vitamin B12 and zinc.
📉Low levels of these nutrients can contribute to a wide range of symptoms — watch the video for what to look out for 👀
If you rely on indigestion relief regularly, it may be worth reviewing this with a healthcare professional.

Did you know? 💡
Paracetamol is commonly used, but regular long-term use can put extra demand on the liver.
The liver makes glutathione — a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your cells.
N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) helps your body make glutathione by providing the building blocks it needs.
Small info, big impact.
Always review regular medication use with a healthcare professional.
