The 9th-15th of October is Baby Loss Awareness Week and we are really grateful to show our support for another year and join many other businesses lighting up Maldon in Blue and Pink, thanks to the dedication of Dave Ridgewell and Abby Ridgewell
Landmarks, businesses and homes across the UK will be lit up in blue and pink this week to support bereaved parents and to raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss. If you’re reading this, perhaps you would like to add some lights in your window.
On the 15th of October, the globally recognised ‘Wave of Light’ will happen at 7pm. You’re invited to light a candle and leave it burning for one hour to remember all babies that have died too soon.
Silver Street Clinic is here for any person and/or couple who is facing this loss and would like therapeutic help. But many other organisations also offer all kinds of support, here are a few in our area:
Miscarriage Association: In the evenings, they run a Zoom support group for those affected by pregnancy loss, at 7pm. Partners are welcome.

The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust has support lines, zoom groups and discussion forums with a confidential community to help you feel less alone.
Sands, the stillbirth & neonatal deal charity have launched their podcast series: Voices of Baby Loss.
At the heart of the podcast will be real-life stories and experiences shared by those affected by pregnancy and baby loss. From parents to healthcare professionals, researchers and volunteers. They also explore what is being done to support bereaved families and save babies’ lives. (sands.org.uk/podcast)

‘Dad Still Standing’ is a podcast of two dads discussing baby loss, coping with life, and working their way through grief. This podcast is for other dads (and families) which shows a bereaved father’s perspective and provides the tools to help them on their journey with grief.
Cradle Charity is a national pregnancy loss charity working with Healthcare professionals within the NHS, to support their pregnancy loss services. More than 45 NHS hospitals now have access to Cradle support, but they also provide peer support through their early pregnancy loss support group here: https://lnkd.in/e8-ismk6
