G4 Challenge, South Africa, 2003, This is the real deal. 👌

Leaky sunroofs, sagging headlining, leaky A pillars. Cured.

There was no way I could lift the Safety Devices rack off the car on my own, so a little bit of quick thinking with the LR bottle jack gave me just enough room to remove the sunroofs.

Due to the height and shape of the rack, the sunroofs never opened properly anyway, so i've sealed them shut and disconnected the electrics.

Client..... "Wow, looks like its just left factory!"

That'll do for me. 💪

Just a little update for the new followers to the page.

I dont do MSJ full-time, I drive for a builders merchants on Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesday's.

I'll try answers any enquiries and questions during my lunch break, and get back to you as soon as I can.

A lovely day here at MSJ Headquarters making this well maintained Discovery 2 shine in the sun 🌞

The lady owner wanted a pink headlining, however, we finally decided on a match the car colour.... thankfully the pink can stay on the valve caps... 🫣😬😆

I genuinely love the individuality of these vehicles, life would be very boring if we were all the same, driving a drab nardo grey KIA.
(Other boring grey cars are available)

I'm going home now for some sun and fun with the kids

Evening folks,

Ive recently had a few requests for prices regarding headlining work along the lines of "Ow much for a d2 pal?", "How much do you charge?" And, "where you based?"

Now, I'm not telepathic, I really wish I was, so moving forward from today, ALL quotes will be based on photos you provide of the vehicle, and the work required. No photos, No quote.

As an example, the photo below tells me... Twin manual sunroof, pre face-lift Land Rover Discovery 2, with saggy cargo nets. I can then tailor my reply and quote to suit the job.

A little bit of leg work from you guys and girls can save 20+ questions, and ultimately streamline the service for us both.

An early start but "Flat out Friday" is here!

"It smells like new, it looks like new, it sounds like new" was how Mathewsons Classic Cars described this immaculate Land Rover.

253 miles only!! Not even run in yet. 😲😲

We've loved having this one in the workshop, and a little bit sad to see it go, but i'm sure the new owner will be very pleased with her.

Evening folks and a very happy new year!!

The home projects took a beating over the festive break, (i just couldn't sit still and i dont really do xmas) so I'm well ahead of schedule, I'm now bringing bookings forward from February onwards, with a couple of emergency jobs inbetween.

Currently ANY Thursday or Friday dates in February are available, but bear in mind dates wont hang around long, and were rolling last year's prices forward into this year.

As always, I'm still doing the driving job Mon, Tues, Weds, so I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Give me a nudge if i've missed an enquiry or message.

We dont do 9 till 5 here, we, sorry, I, do "until its done"

Seen pretty much every hour on the clock in the workshop at some point this year, doing the best I can to keep your cars looking tip top.

Met some pretty cool folk, (and some wierd ones), along the way too.

When a day doesnt go to plan...

This D2 visited us today from Nottinghamshire, for a pit-stop headlining exchange.
After removing the saggy headlining it became very obvious the car leaked like a sieve.

Sunroofs out, gutter issues dealt with, new seals all round, new headlining fitted and back on the road 5 hours later.

Hitting the ground running after a few days away...

Range Rover L405 from Leicestershire in for corroded sunroof drain repairs.

Epsom green Discovery 2 from mid Wales in for the full works plus insulated roof area.

Defunct Diesel heater replacement on a family campervan this evening and tomorrow (easier said than done)

I'll get through all the enquires during the course of the weekend, with the exception of the one guy who messaged saying "its a Monday, you should be at work" when I didn't reply straight away... he can use someone else. 🙄
