👋 Tuesday's Teacher Feature: Meet Katarina 👋

💫 What are you currently reading?

I always have more than one book on the go. Currently: Attachment in psychotherapy by David J. Wallin and The Baby in the Mirror by Charles Fernyhough.
Both of these open a little window of understanding for why we are how we are as adults.

💫 How would you describe your teaching style in 3 words?

Meditative; relaxed; introspective.

💫 What's your post teaching routine?

My yin yoga and meditation classes are meditative, relaxed, spiritual and quite late in the evening. I tend to float out of the studio and in that wonderful woolly feeling get home; check my children sleeping, I then rest and enjoy the continuous post class relaxation with a cup of tea; often chatting with my partner; reading or watching TV

💫 A place you could go to over and over again?

As a true cosmopolite that would be anywhere where I can sit quietly for a few moments; undisturbed with a cup of strong Yorkshire tea watching the world go by.
....

You’ll find Kat holding space in our Sunday monthly women’s circles, as well as guiding our Yin Yoga & meditation sessions.

She’s also our resident Reiki practitioner, bringing a calming, nurturing energy to everything she does.

✨April Monthly Sanctuary✨

Yin Yoga is the meditative practice emphasising surrender instead of effort; stillness instead of movement, awareness instead of achievement. In this space, rest becomes a gateway to self-awareness and acceptance.

"Sometimes the most spiritual act is simply to rest." Rumi

Join me on Sunday 19th April for a 90-minute Sanctuary
at Flow for All Yoga, Malton.

A space to soften, slow down, and simply be.

✨This Sunday we sat with the Mother archetype.
Thought of as the source of all becoming, we returned to her all that was given, all that was taken, and all that was longed for…
And in the quiet that remains, we remember who we are. This is who we nurture.✨

Had a rare bit of spare time after class… obviously that meant a long overdue Pincha Mayurasana practice 🙃
Started off strong, feeling myself a little too much… and yeah, straight onto my face 🤦‍♂️

But hey, that’s the process. You fall, you learn, you come back stronger 💫

“Are your classes really busy?”

Yes… and no. Every week is different. Daytime classes are especially hard to judge, you never quite know what you might get!

Teaching a class of 15 people or a class of 3 is equally important, yet the experience can feel completely different.

A busy class has a special buzz. The room hums with energy, and that shared rhythm of movement and breath carries the whole practice. The connection is incredible.

A smaller class is more intimate. As a teacher, there’s more time to support each person through their own journey. It becomes personal, specific, and deeply individual.

At Flow for Flow you can experience both, the vibrant buzz of a busy class, or the calm intimacy of a smaller one. And both are beautiful in their own way. ✨

✨March Women’s Circle – Journey with the Mother Archetype✨

As spring approaches, we gather to honour the Mother archetype; the pattern of nurturing, protection, creation and care. This universal symbol represents the source of life, emotional security, and the relationships that nourish and support us.

In this circle, we will reflect on how these qualities live within us, and how we can bring compassion, encouragement and care into our lives- both for others and for ourselves.

We will also explore the balance within this archetype. When does nurturing and unconditional love shift into overprotection, control, or possessiveness? Together we will gently reflect on how to nurture in ways that truly support growth and wellbeing as we move into the renewing energy of spring.

You are warmly invited into a sacred and brave space, gathered and held within the wisdom of women, where every story, every experience, and every unfolding is held with deep witnessing, compassion, and non-judgement.

Our evening begins with a guided meditation to invite inner connection followed by ceremonial cacao, opening the heart and softening the mind. From this place of surrender we move into journaling, allowing inner wisdom to rise to the surface. Those who feel called may share, as shared voices often illuminate new pathways of understanding.
