Lifestyle Lead April, hosted our very first Game show afternoon, as we celebrated our MMCG Family Christmas. There were fun and audience participation games, as we collected prizes in our teams. There was Christmas music and trivia rounds and we watched a message from the MMCG team. The afternoon ended with a surprise rendition on the 12 days of Christmas, as all the prizes throughout the afternoon were props relating to the song. It was a great afternoon, with lots of engagement from those who live with us, their visitors and staff.

We held our 5th annual Windsor Court Nativity this weekend. This time in our Bistro using our Symphony Sound room kit, meaning that we were able to scale up the show and everyone still be able to hear. Staff, families and those that live with us took part, dressing up and reading their parts with flare and a touch of drama. It was a comical script, that gained many eruptions of laughter, as well as more serious and meaningful moments, as we acted through the story of Jesus's birth.

A special outing this week for Colin, who has stuck up a friendship with 6 year old Archer, lifestyle lead April's son. Colin greatly enjoyed going to Archer's school carol service, meeting his class mates and teacher too. Colin was thrilled to see all the children and said it really put him in the Christmas spirit.

We welcomed our local church fellowship group this week, for our annual joint carol service. Visitors, staff and those that live with us read the readings, using our brilliant new sound system, meaning everyone could hear and participate fully. We sang carols and shared mulled wine and yule log afterwards. We greatly enjoy hosting the fellowship group and look forward to it again in the new year.

Recently, the lifestyle team won a Maria Mallaband competition for how they celebrated Diwali. They have been thoughtfully spending their winnings from our Diwali competition. Buying a gazebo for the garden, a robo dementia cat, a weighted doll, a relish radio for the dementia community, some relish games to add to the one to one trolley, 200m of Christmas lights to enhance the festivities in the Bistro, 3 more sets of drum kit since their drum fitness sessions are so popular. Lastly, the lifestyle team wanted to thank all the Windsor Court staff, with named mugs filled with sweets and a token thank you gift.

"We wanted to make sure the wider team felt that they were appreciated and acknowledge that their hard work and growing whole-home approach to lifestyle has been noticed, and contributed to us winning the Diwali competition. Our series of Christmas outings is well under way.

So far, we have been to our local school, Malvern St James to watch their production of Joseph. We also greatly enjoyed watching Malvern St James prep-school Nativity at Christ Church. We then joined in with 'Messy Vintage', a dementia friendly church service, which was a lovely start to advent. We have many more opportunities for more...fresh air in the coming weeks too.
