I might have been a bit quiet on here recently but I’ve been out and about learning new skills and expanding my knowledge and tool kit to help your horses feel at their best! ❤️

AMI ❤️

Our very own little rescue pony, nanny, governess, companion and hellraiser extraordinaire! 😆

Being a non-ridden companion pony does she benefit from massage therapy?

YES!

A massage boosts circulation, removes toxins, rebalances and relaxes tense muscles 😊

I got lots of lovely releases from Ami this morning 😊 Well who wouldn’t love a massage on a grim January day! ❤️

These last couple of weeks have been manic! Preparing our fields for winter, fitting guttering, installing new water troughs, laying areas for hard standing, and installing some new post and rail fencing… 😅

Also my golden girl Jules went in for a heart scan and ECG and has been given a clean bill of health which is such fantastic news for me ❤️ Plus we had a lovely time grazing the vets fields together - it was raining but it was such a little luxury to just hang out with my girl!

Jules will be coming back into work now and I will be helping her regain strength and improve her flexibility using massage! ❤️ I cannot wait this mare is my heaven! ❤️

This is my husbands horse Angie. Angie is another Irish Sport Horse who is around 16hh and is 15 years old. She is very sweet but has a few issues that I’m not sure we will ever truly get to the bottom of. She suffers from slight intermittent hind end lameness and although she loves hacking and a little light schooling to keep her happy and fit her jumping days are definitely done. We do rein back from the ground to keep her topline healthy and the back end engaged - this also helps support her ‘time off work tummy’! 🤦‍♀️ She is a real fidget which makes massage a bit tricky but she lets me know when I’ve hit the spot- the perfect teacher! ❤️

This is Keva, one of our lovely four year olds who is at the beginning of her eduction. Today was her introduction to massage and she was a star definitely enjoying the new experience. I really focussed on her front end today. You can see in one of the images she has some rather ‘knotty’ muscle behind her elbow on her near side. This seems to be over the serratus ventralis thoracic behind the triceps brachii. She had some fasciculations along her back on the near side during treatment and tightness in the lumbar region. My youngsters are turned out in a herd and they enjoy playing and charging about so this could definitely be the result of a kick or accident. I will be working on smoothing out these muscles and making sure she is balanced and supple ❤️

Today I treated our little rescue cob Ami. Ami is a rather timid girl who we believe to have had a few foals in her lifetime. She is a little on the chubby side too. She had tightness in her neck and back and showed some lovely releases especially working the trunk supporting serratus ventralis muscles and the longissimus thoracis. She did an impressive abdominal lift for me which will help strengthen that topline and core ❤️ Looking forwards to working with this mare to see what improvements we can make ❤️ She has also let me know she needs a bath 😉
