On the 24th April, we launched our new appointment system and since then, a significant number of our patients have provided positive feedback regarding the system and the introduction of the online triage forms.

We understand that a number of you may not have required our services since this change and we hope that this breakdown of the triage process will help you to understand.

18/07/2023 - Issues with Freestyle LibreLink App

We have become aware of an issue with the Abbott FreeStyle LibreLink app, which monitors glucose levels in diabetic patients after an increase in calls to the 111 service from patients who use the LibreLink app, reporting that it is not working.

The problem appears to have started after an update to the LibreLink app, which is specific to some Apple iphones in the UK and has subsequently been withdrawn from the App Store whilst further work is undertaken by the company.

The company have advised that iPhone users in the UK who are experiencing problems with the app should contact its customer service line and "Customers experiencing issues with the iOS app should uninstall and reinstall the app”. The Android version is not affected.

Further advice is provided on the Abbott website (link below), with a video clip showing how to delete and reinstall the app. If customers are still experiencing problems, they can contact the Customer Services team on 0800 170 1177.

Patients should also be advised that if they are still having problems with the app or if the readings do not seem appropriate, they should revert to the finger prick test for checking blood sugar levels.

TECHNICAL ISSUES - 26/05/2022

Unfortunately we are experiencing technical issues with our computers, specifically our clinical system.

This has been reported by ourselves and other GP practices in the area but we have been informed that this is a National issue.

For the past 12 months we have been using an online triage system to improve patient access to our services. This has been welcomed by the majority of our patients and in order to further improve the service we provide, we have decided to trial further utilisation of this online triage system.

On Monday 24th April, we will be implementing a "Total Triage" model for our GP appointments. This means that for all GP appointment requests, an online triage form will be required. The process for arranging an appointment with our Nursing team will remain the same.

This will allow patients to contact the practice without needing to queue on the phone and those without internet access who do need to call us, should see a shorter waiting time.

Unfortunately Malvern Health Centre and other GP surgeries are having issues with phonelines this morning, preventing any calls from connecting to the surgery.

This has been reported and our provider are currently looking into this.

Due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the surgery will be closed on Monday 19th September for the State Funeral. We will reopen on Tuesday 20th September at 8am.

FLU VACCINE UPDATE:

We have had confirmation that our Flu vaccines will be delivered towards the end of September. As these delivery dates have changed in the past, we will be hosting our first of several vaccination clinics in October.

We please ask that you do NOT contact the surgery to enquire about the Flu vaccinations. We will contact you (if eligible) once we have a date confirmed.

Last month we had 125 of our patients that received appointments, complete a Family & Friends Test regarding their experience with Malvern Health Centre on that day. We are pleased to say that 80% of respondents were "likely" or "very likely" to recommend us to others. This image shows some of the feedback we had alongside these results.
