Not all self care involves long walks or candles 💫

For me it also comes in the form of...

🌶️ Delicious meals out & date-lunches
🍸 The odd gin cocktail (or 3!)
😂 Laugher & catching up with old friends
🪩 Dancing until the small hours and your feet throb
🎧 Grinning until you have face ache reminiscing over great tunes
🙌🏻 Waving your arms in the air like you just don’t care

Filling your cup doesn’t always have to mean being on your best behaviour.

No apologies. No caring what anyone else thinks.
It’s doing what you love, with who you love ❤️
..because time is precious.

As a teenager, heavy periods and hideous cramps were just ‘normal’ for me.

Missed school days. Sitting on a towel to avoid flooding. Skipping sport and social plans every month.

I was put on the contraceptive pill – like so many of us were. It stopped the bleeding, but it didn’t address the root cause.

Years later, I dealt with endometriosis and fertility struggles, and often wonder how different things could have been if someone had supported my health earlier instead of just suppressing symptoms.

Now I’m seeing it everywhere:
• Clients with teenage daughters
• Teenage clients themselves
• My own daughter’s friends
• Women watching their daughters struggle and feeling helpless. Often struggling themselves with similar perimenopause issues that can, in some, mirror the pattern

So this comes from passion – and responsibility.
From using this space to help other mums support their girls’ health early, gently, and safely – even through the eye-rolls, the “whatevers”, and the frustrated teenage resistance 😅

I feel your pain.

This is about giving our girls tools for their future health – even if they pretend not to listen right now.

January felt like a hard YEAR for so many people 💚(It’s certainly felt like a year 😉)

But Friday reminded me exactly why I do this work.

Two women. Two completely different stages of their health journey. Two messages that genuinely stopped me in my tracks.

One shared at the end of her final programmed session:

“Working with you has been life-changing.”

That’s a big statement – and one I don’t take lightly. Because real change never comes from one person alone.
She trusted the process. She showed up. She did the work between sessions.

My role was to guide, reduce overwhelm, and provide the structure and accountability she needed.

The second message came straight after a first appointment:

“I’ve just realised your programme (and your business) is called Lift – and that’s exactly how I feel. Uplifted – thank you so much.”

After a late cancer diagnosis, feeling supported, informed, and empowered in your own health matters more than anything.

And honestly? I love this work.
This is why I do what I do.
Because your health isn’t just something you manage – it’s the foundation of everything else.

I did it! 🏃🏻‍♀️⭐️

My first trail run done. 10km Petzl night runner - Rivington. Maybe I was a little over ambitious…

I’ll be honest it was a challenge, a really huge one. Off-road is very different in the dark with what felt like gail force winds, ridiculously steep ups and downs and uneven terrain… did I say I’m a little risk averse with footing and poor night vision 😳

If it wasn’t for my fellow runners and the view I’d have seriously struggled to finish (although there was no other way down 😂).

Support looks like this.

The women you who surround you, that lift you up and have your back when you struggle. Often the women in life you don’t expect.

And for this I am extremely grateful 💚

– walking into a room of strangers

– believing in yourself anyway

Yes…
It’s uncomfortable.
It’s awkward.
It’s full of self-doubt…

…but the reward is worth it:
new connections,
confidence,
and women who lift you up along the way.

January is a rubbish month for resolutions 😳

I get it, new year, new beginnings, fresh intentions framing the year ahead. But we don’t live in Australia or somewhere warm and sunny (I wish!). It’s cold, and dark outside, Christmas overindulgence has got the better of us and we are still reeling from the stress of a busy December and most probably a cold or flu.

Why punish ourselves even more? Dry January, sugar-free, new gym membership... miserable!

All designed to stress our body even more when what it really needs is nourishment and selfcare to see us gently into the rest of the year.

No wonder the majority of New year resolutions don’t make it past the second week January.

For the rest of January, why not do things differently 🤍
