The Holistic Dietitian UK Educatie nutritionala personalizata pentru corp si suflet :) I currently work as a Specialist Dietitian in Upper GI cancers surgeries.

I have a special interest in oncology, colorectal surgeries, gastroenterology, bariatrics, women's health and fertility. As a Surgical Dietitian, I have been covering a complex caseload of surgical and colorectal inpatients referred for nutrition support pre and post-surgeries or surgical complications (ileus, small bowel obstruction, volvulus, gastric outlet obstruction, gallstones, newly formed ileostomy or colostomy, high output stomas, diverticulitis) but also pancreatitis, liver or Crohn's disease. I have helped patients by offering dietary advice on low residue diet, polymeric diet advice given Chron's disease, pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (Creon) etc. Throughout my dietetic career, I have developed valuable skills such as active listening, critical thinking, MDT work, organisational and analytical skills, confidence to manage complex patients and working well under pressure, and clinical knowledge in different areas: surgery, gastroenterology, stroke, oncology, bariatrics, cardiac, renal, enteral feeding.

Wishing you a joyful Merry Christmas! 🎄❤️

No matter what you'll be doing this Christmas, if you are spending it together with friends, family or by yourself, I hope it will find you well!

Take some time to rest, connect with yourself and the others around you, and don't forget: food shouldn't be a reason to argue. It should be a reason for celebrating, for tasting new dishes, flavours and socialising with the loved ones.

Christmas is about peace, nurture and joy.

Backstage 👀

Some of the meals I had this week, at home and in work, although I have have been socialising a bit as Christmas is coming shortly 🎄✨

Reminder from a Dietitian : Be gentle with yourself this Christmas.

Some easy things you can do to keep yourself healthy and sane during festive season:

✨ Have a good breakfast, incuding oats, low sugar cereals, nuts. Or perhaps eggs, sourdough bread, avocado, salmon? Weetabix and milk? Have the sweet treat after, if you want to.

✨Enjoy lunch with family and/or friends. Go for high protein meals such as beef/turkey/chicken/fish but keep the carbs closer too. It's allowed to have roast potatoes, mash or bread. Add extra vegetables if you can. Prices for vegetables have been cut off this week so you can take advantage.

✨ Keep hydrated (including water). Move after if you can, this will help digestion.

✨Think about what you've done good this year, what you want to keep and what you think you can improve in 2026.

✨Be greatful and love yourself.

Câteva informații utile pentru persoanele care se luptă cu obezitatea, sau pentru familiile lor, prieteni, manager, uneori chiar și cadre medicale.

Obezitatea este o boală cronică și trebuie tratată ca atare.

Obezitatea nu este consecința directă a lipsei de motivație, efort, lene sau determinare.

Sunt Dietetician acreditat în Marea Britanie și am ales să comunic ocazional în limba engleză pentru a mă adresa și romanilor din UK, în special celor care nu înțeleg informații de specialitate în limba engleză.

Fii mai implicat, arată compasiune și sprijin.

My first try for homemade granola in the air fryer ❤️

I used oats, mixed nuts, Chia seeds, raisins, cranberries, dark chocolate, peanut butter, heney, lemon drizzle and extra chickpeas for a higher protein and fibres intake but you can use your favourite ingredients ❤️

I mixed all ingredients and baked at 180 degrees for about 30-40 minutes in the air fryer. The result: good source of fibre to mix in my Greek yogurt almost every morning!

🎄Care este semnificația Crăciunului?

Crăciunul este o sărbătoare religioasă, cu o semnificație aparte pentru fiecare dintre noi. Sărbătorim Crăciunul prin iubirea față de Iisus Hristos, prin împodobirea bradului, prin cadouri oferite celor dragi nouă, prin mese festive alături de familie și prieteni, socializare și conectare.

Și dacă tot vine vorba de cadouri, grija față de cei dragi poate fi exprimată prin multe feluri: cadouri practice, educative, esențiale. Dar uneori cadourile pot reprezenta și transmite grija față de sănătatea celor dragi nouă. Nutriția este un factor esențial pentru sănătatea noastră fizică și mintală, care necesită prioritizare dar este deseori amânată.

Dacă vrei sa faci un bine cuiva și consideri că educația nutrițională poate fi benefică pentru sănătatea acestuia, fa acest pas. ❤️

November's photo dump 📸

My absolute favourites are late springs, summer and early autumn vibes. I would definitely hibernate from November to February if I could.. 😅 But I learnt to make the most of the cold weather too: a frosty walk, lunch with my loved ones, batch cooking, gigs, reading a book in a cozy corner, movie nights.

December is now here and indeed, this month comes with a lot of goodies that we could take advantage of, such as seasonal ingredients: pears, apples, Brussels sprouts, carrots, leeks, winter squash, turnips and so much more. Lots of flavours, recipes we create around this time, indeed some healthier than others.

We know that, especially on Christmas day, most of us exceed nutritional requirements. We celebrate foods in all shapes and colours, we spend more time socialising such as Christmas parties, family dinners, pigs in blankets or traditional foods, and alcohol. But I suppose we have to remind ourselves that above all, we have to enjoy it and be grateful, kind and compassionate towards each other.

Try and don't be so hard on yourself. Christmas is a celebration of love, including yourself.

🛋️ Obezitatea reprezintă una dintre cele mai mari probleme de sănătate actuale. Câteva lucruri pe care le-am învățat din experiența de până acum:

Un tratament complet include scăderea în greutate dar mai ales tratarea cauzei principale a creșterii greutății.

Obezitatea ar trebui privită din punct de vedere holistic, luând în vedere si complicațiile asociate: bolile cardiovasculare, diabet zaharat, bolile endocrinologice și hormonale sau cele neoplazice.

Cea mai importantă caracteristică a oricărei diete de slăbire pentru persoanele cu obezitate care sunt sedentare este restricționarea aportului energetic sub îndrumarea unui specialist.

Promovarea și susținerea modelelor alimentare sănătoase, punând accent pe o varietate de alimente bogate în nutrienți în porții adecvate va îmbunătăți starea generală de sănătate.

Abordarea nevoilor nutriționale individuale bazate pe preferințele personale și culturale, accesul la alegeri alimentare sănătoase, dorința și capacitatea de a face schimbări comportamentale și barierele în calea schimbării sunt componente esențiale în îngrijirea pacientului cu obezitate.

Leguminoasele, fructele, legumele și produsele lactate au fost asociate cu pierderea în greutate atunci când sunt consumate ca parte a unei diete echilibrate.

Dietele bogate în grăsimi (nesaturate), cm ar fi dieta mediteraneană, nu sunt asociate cu un risc crescut de boli de inimă.

Intervențiile dietetice trebuie de obicei combinate cu alte intervenții privind stilul de viață, cm ar fi creșterea exercițiilor fizice, îmbunătățirea calității somnului și a stresului pentru a obține pierderea în greutate.

Activitatea fizică este o componentă integrantă a tuturor strategiilor de gestionare a obezității, dar nu este cel mai important factor pentru pierderea în greutate.

Monday night thoughts 💭

How many times haven't we heard someone saying 'Are you suppose to eat that? " or" As a Dietitian, you are not supposed to eat ice cream. ". I have been told this once... 😅

I think food is more than just keeping us alive. Food is fuel indeed, it's something we need and want to have daily, but we often take it for granted. Not everyone is able to put food on the table, let's just remember that.

I am a registered Dietitian who believes that food should be enjoyed in all shapes, colours, flavours, tastes. I get it, things might be a little bit different at times when it comes to an athlete, or a bodybuilder, and they are other examples out there too. Someone who wants to keep their diabetes under control or get into remission, for example, might need to rethink their dietary intake, sugar and saturated fats, salt and other aspects. But food can still be cooked in a way that it's enjoyable, tasty, exciting, and brings us together.

Plates won't always look as per National Guidelines, but we can do our best to be as close as possible to them, for most days. We can try having more fruits and vegetables, eat more fish, cut down on salt, stay hydrated, cut on added sugar, be mindful about portion sizes.

Other days... Well, we can enjoy our friend's birthday, our mum traditional recipe, or friend's dinner party.

Prepping meals was fun today 😇

In about 1.5 hours I managed to create some nourishing meals for the next couple of days, tried to use as much as I could from all the ingredients and play around recipes. It would have been even faster if my Spotify playing wouldn't have given me reasons to dance but hey, it was good enough 😁

In the pictures below you can see :

📍 Roasted apples with cinnamon fora bit of warmth into my breakfasts
📍 Salmon and rice, with extra broccoli and kimchi to nourish the gut microbiome
📍 Chicken noodles in red Thai sauce + Asian frozen vegetables
📍Mixed vegetable soup. Will add croutons too
📍Leftover chicken with leftover vegetables

What will you cook for the week ahead? 😊

Hope this will give you a but of inspiration, I know it can be stressful sometimes to prepare meals. As Romanians would say 'Noi ce mai mâncăm astăzi? "

Despre fibre 🥝

Veți vedea ca postările mele vor fi bilingve, în general 😅. Unele în limba engleză, altele în limba română, dar sper eu informative și pentru toată lumea interesată de diverse patologii și sfaturi nutriționale.

Am ales să vorbesc despre fibre deoarece deseori am fost întrebată de familie, prieteni sau alte persoane care mi-au scris în online de ce toată lumea e interesată de fibre, ce sunt, câte avem nevoie și în ce alimente le găsim. Unele persoane au fost sfătuite sa mănânce mai puține fibre, mai ales în urma unor operații la colon sau în primele săptămâni după formarea de stoma.

Bineînțeles, aceste imagini descriu foarte succint și sper eu pe înțelesul tuturor câteva informații de bază în ceea ce privește fibrele alimentare.

But I think what I really want to talk about it it's Liverpool... My Liverpool dream team ❤️

When I left London, I wasn't sure how my journey is going to be, how far I'll go. I was excited for the new experiences, but also reserved. Now I know it's been one of the best decisions of my life.

As a Surgical Dietitian, I have been covering a complex caseload of surgical and colorectal inpatients referred for nutrition support pre and post-surgeries. Throughout my dietetic career, I have developed valuable skills such as active listening, critical thinking, MDT work, organisational and analytical skills, confidence in managing complex patients and working well under pressure, in depth knowledge in different medical conditions.

But I think I am the most grateful for this experience as I met the warmest people in Liverpool who made me valuable every day. My colleagues were everything I could have asked for: very knowledgeable, helpful, paying attention to each other's needs (professional and personal), caring and empowering. I was genuinely happy to go to work every day and to make a difference. I have left Liverpool due to career opportunities, but now I am happy to meet my friends outside work, discuss life updates and be there for each other, in good and bad. ❤️
