World AMR Awareness Week reminds us that antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a serious global health threat. When bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites stop responding to medicines, common infections become harder to treat.

Everyone can help slow the spread of drug resistance:
• Only use antibiotics when prescribed by a healthcare professional.
• Always complete the full course of treatment.
• Never share or reuse leftover antibiotics.

Together, we can protect the effectiveness of life-saving medicines.

Autumn Family Fun at Old Moat Sure Start!

Looking for something fun (and a little muddy!) to do with the kids next week? Join us at Old Moat Sure Start Children’s Centre on Thursday 30th, from 9:30am to 12:00pm for a morning of pot decorating and winter veg planting! 🌱🎨

Children aged 0–11 (with parents or carers) can get creative decorating their own pots and sowing winter vegetables like cabbage, garlic, and onions — to take home and grow!

A lovely way to enjoy the season together and learn a bit about growing your own food. 🍂

📍 Old Moat Sure Start Children’s Centre
🕤 Thursday 30th | 9:30am–12:00pm

All families welcome – come along and join the fun!

🎀 Spotting changes early can save lives 🎀

Most people survive breast cancer when it’s found and treated at an early stage. That’s why it’s so important to be breast aware and attend screening when invited.

👉 Look out for any changes such as lumps, skin changes, or ni**le changes.
👉 If you notice something unusual, don’t wait — your GP wants to hear from you.
👉 You'll automatically get your first invite for breast screening between the ages of 50 and 53. Then you'll be invited every 3 years until you turn 71.
👉 If you're a trans man, trans woman or are non-binary, you may be invited automatically, or you may need to talk to your GP surgery or call the local breast screening service to ask for an appointment.

Your health matters. Please check, attend, and talk to us if you’re concerned.
