Last week, the 2023 Carers Leave Act officially took effect, granting UK employees the right to up to 5 days of unpaid carers leave annually.

At Chiesi, we recognised the importance of supporting our team members with caring responsibilities last year, and in May 2023 we proudly introduced 5 days of paid Carers Leave which all UK employees are eligible for from day 1.

And our commitment doesn't just end there…

April is Stress Awareness Month, a time that aims to draw attention to the impact stress can have on us.

The wellbeing of our employees is our priority, we want colleagues to come to work feeling healthy, happy, and motivated. It can feel good to be busy, but it’s never good to feel burnt out.

That’s why we offer dedicated wellbeing time on top of annual leave along with a myriad of support, from our employee assistance programme to fully trained mental health first aiders.

Our inhaler recycling scheme, Take AIR, is the only healthcare solution named as a finalist in this highly competitive category.

Our Chippenham Research and Development centre has been recognised for their green practices!👏

At Chiesi, we’re dedicated to continued action to decrease our carbon footprint, and one of the ways we are doing this is by implementing green practices into our research lab facilities. The recently awarded My Green Lab Certification, validated by external non-profit My Green Lab confirms that we’re acting on our commitments.

After a thorough assessment of our lab practices, equipment, waste, and procurement, we were awarded the highest level of ‘Green’ certificate! ✅

Today is International MSL Day and we’re giving a big shoutout to our Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), recognising them for the fantastic work they do across our teams! 🤩

At Chiesi, our MSLs play a central role within our Medical team as well as part of the cross-functional team. They are pivotal to balanced and credible discussions around scientific and clinical information, and lead on many data generation and dissemination activities, leading to numerous peer-reviewed posters and manuscripts across our portfolio.

Furthermore, our MSLs are passionate about co-creating high quality scientific education for the healthcare community together with leading healthcare professionals. These webinars and podcasts address topical issues across a wide board of disease areas.

Last, but certainly not least, our MSLs are proactively driving collaborations across the country for the benefit of patients and the NHS.

As you can see, the role of our MSLs continues to grow and evolve along with our organisation and we look forward to continuing developing this role in the future💡

This March, we've been embracing this year’s B Corp Month theme, ‘This Way Forward’. We joined B Local Manchester for a unique skills and knowledge sharing workshop, helping social community enterprises to understand what it means to be a B Corp.

The workshop saw our Head of External Communications, Yasmin Ghariani, and our SV&S Manager, Perdita Cresser provide insight to local businesses about our approach to shared value, and how others can join the mission of using business as a force for good.

It was a great opportunity for us to contribute to the B Corp network in Manchester, and the unveiling of a stunning B Corp mural in Manchester was the cherry on the cake!

The mural celebrates the city's booming community of purpose-driven businesses - and we're proud to say Chiesi UK is among the names featured! 🎉
