Let’s celebrate! It’s our birthday 🥳🎉🎂. This week Blossom Charity is 4 years old. We are so proud of what we’ve achieved in 4 short but busy years. None of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers who commit their time and passion to our activities in the horticultural centre in Wythenshawe Park. We are grateful to our funders who recognise the value in our work and the impact it has on the health and wellbeing of our participants.

It might look severe but this is a good time to cut back the chilli plants foliage as they are pretty dormant over the winter. This is going to put the plants into hibernation. This means that in Spring the plants will flourish again and be at a good stage for early fruiting. You will increase their chances of survival massively if you move the plants inside a greenhouse (if they are not in one already). This will help keep the roots warm and protect them from frost.

Just so you know we have revised opening hours at the Horticultural Centre from this week, November 2025. We are so grateful for the efforts of our many volunteers who look after the centre plants. We want them to return home before it’s too dark and cold. So we are opening an hour earlier so visitors will still get to enjoy the centre 5 days a week 🌵😁🌴🌱🌳🌼

We had lots of fun this week at the Witches kitchen, Spooky storytime with Good Witch Ingrid and delicious Pumpkin tasters from our Lauren sharing tasters and recipes for 58p per portion. Special thank you to the children who came along in spectacular fancy dress 👻🧙. Pebble and friends at the park cafe are continuing the Halloween vibe today.

Come and join us at the horticultural centre tomorrow and Thursday for spooky activities: storytelling with Good Witch Ingrid 🧙 pumpkin curry tasters, Spooky play kitchen for toddlers. 1 to 3 pm. See you in Wythenshawe Park. Come in costume if you want to. 😱 🎃
