Can you decipher what you see?

It can be really hard to know what treatment will help your concerns and I find lip filler tends to be up there with treatments that you think you need when in reality you don't (or at least it's not going to tick all your boxes).

The lips play a massive part in balancing our profile and quickly show our age by becoming thinner, flatter and less defined, and lip filler tends to give a quick impact, so I understand why it can seem like a good idea.

But it isn't often as simple as lip filler being THE one treatment to give you what you want AND achieve a cohesive and undetectable refresh.

Because lets face it, lip filler when it isn't right for you is just bad.

These treatments often go hand in hand with lip filler, or can even hold lip filler off it's about finding the right combination for you;
•Toxin- lip flip and gummy smile treatment, and to reduce the downwards put on mouth corners
•Subtle dermal filler- to support chin, mouth corners and around the mouth
•Biostimulators and subtle dermal filler to provide firming, lift and support to the rest of your profile

❤️

Study, work, money, chores, gym, kids, marriage, loss...the simple everyday, whether it's stressful or joyous can chip away at us until the focus is on everything and evryone else.

Everything other than what we feel should be, look or do better in ourselves.

We are all to often our own worst critic.

I can easily say look at yourself with love and kindness...but I get it...to see and feel yourself takes time.

This is why I love what I do. Wellbeing, health, science, art, confidence, a confidant all wrapped up in one.

We can get there together.

HEALTHY BODY. HEALTHY MIND. HEALTHY SKIN

Growing baby takes a lot.You can make it take less

It is completely undeniable that nutrients taken to nourish our little one actually leaves us essentially stripped of the ability to repair and heal. Leading to everything from crows feet and skin laxity to baby brain.

❤️So if we can feel energised and look like ourselves at the same time, why not?! They both help us face the hurdles of the day better!

Here are my tips to help us replenish nutrients, optimise biological age and build habits that stick⏬️

PRECONCEPTION
• 🌱Optimise diet & clean supplementation, as a minimum supplementing vit d, b12, folic acid, omega 3, (choline)
•🧴 Plan pregnancy safe skincare changes- retinoid, acid and hydroquinone alternatives
•💉 Bank collagen& maximise skin health baseline- regenerative & biostimulator treatments such as Julaine, RF-Microneedling, HIFU and Polynucleotides, stimulate skin healing & firming that keeps giving over the months of pregnancy.

DURING PREGNANCY
•🌱Nutient dense whole foods, variety is always key but focuses vary a touch through trimester. E.g 1st trimester eggs, healthy fats, folate. 2nd above & proteins, 3rd proteins, healthy fats, mg, omega 3
• Clean supplementation generaly triggers less morning sickness & bloating
• 💤Prioritise rest & maintain good movement as much as the above
•🌈 LED therapy regularly to boost collagen as well as keep inflammation down in rosacea and acne
•🧴 Make pregnancy safe skincare choices such as peptides & Vit C over retinoids, lactic over glycolic, azelaic acid over hydroquinone

POSTPARTUM
• 🌱Continue supplements, nutrient dense eating
• Be kind to yourself, hormones, healing and habits take time
• 💤🏃‍♀️Rest, help & sleep are as important as movement and social activities
• 💉Safely reintroduce skincare and treatments when safe e.g when cycle returns can consider RFmicroneedling, when it is right to stop breastfeeding can restart biostimulators & regenerative treatments (& toxin! For a quick win!)

Foods that will make not break you⬇️

Simple rules like eating variety, aiming for 30 plants a week, and eating the rainbow are definitely the basis for a diet that should provide your body and ultimately your skin with what it needs to function properly. Age, and heal well.

Sometimes it can be useful to know specific what foods offer you, particularly at times when you may need to nourish more, settle inflammation and reset your gut microbiome.

Here are my favourite whole food staples that I love throughout the year, but particularly in January to help combat bloat, fatigue, and inflammed skin amongst other common Blue January concerns.

🫒 Olive oil 🫚Cinnamon &turmeric- powerful antinflammatory, antioxidant and aids absorption of other nutrients
🥜 Ancient grains, seeds, nuts- gut friends fibre, micronutrients like zinc, healthy fats
🥬Kale, spinach 🍄Mushrooms 🫘Pulses - gut supportive fibre, prebiotics, antioxidants and antiinflammatories
🫙Kefir, Saurkraut- prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics to love your gut, aid absorption, immunity and settle inflammation
🐟Oily fish 🦴Bone Broth🥩Grass fed animal protein- rich in omega 3, b12, healthy fats & amino acids.

With these super foods can most definatley still make winter comfort foods that you know will nourish your body, mind and skin.

If you want to explore how diet and lifestyle interconnect with skin health, skin care and an antiang treatment plan, head to my blog and website for more information or book your consultation! I do love talking about recipes!

Rosacea, sensitivity and angry breakouts?

January is notorious for inflammed skin.

Our skin barriers are stripped and internal inflammation is high after the not so nourishing lifestyles of party season, the harsh weather, drying heating and irritating skincare calendars or well meaning gifts.

Often, with all these factors bombarding our skin, we see redness, feel sensitivity and dehydration and feel our skin is far from looking it's best.

Whilst ensuring your skincare is skin barrier nourishing and contains key elements like ceramides, panthenol and niacinamide, we often need to deliver deeper healing.

Cue the most underrated use of polynucleotides...as a fantastic antiinflammatory skin treatment.

Head to my blog and website for more information about how they could work for you, or of course book in to see how they can fit into part of your regular skin nourishing routine

Cycle syncing, metabolic beauty & biostimulators.

Love. Love. Love

And they are set to dominate the skin, aesthetics and wellness areas this year...and I am not at all sad about it!

Finally approaches that take a holistic and regenerative approach that adapts with your body and skin over time.

If you have seen me in clinic you will be used to me discussing these concepts, maybe without the sexy labels they have been give ( and often talking your ear off as I love them!)

• Impact of hormones on skin health and aging- and if you have had tox I have likely explained why it stings and oozes more at certain menstrual phases...a prime example of cycle syncing
• Biostimulators such as Julaine offer an answer to deep regeneration of skin structure, something that diminishes as we age and contributes to laxity and sagging and should be addressed to minimise reliance on dermal fillers and tox and keep natural lasting results
• Metabolic beauty, the trendy term used to explain a holistic approach looking at identifying underlying health and nutrition concerns that will be impacting g skin health and visible as well as internal aging

Only word to the wise...things labelled as such don't always deliver...so ensure you are never sold to, always given time and opt for journeys that are truely tailored to you.

Never mind New Year's resolutions.

Whilst January can seem like a great opportunity for a fresh start after the heavy meals, late nights and indulgence of the festive season I always encourage my patients to look inwards at times throughout the whole year, to see what your body, mind and skin need.

Look at the little things you do each day with equal importance as any bigger and often sexier plans.

These are common questions I ask my patients and you can ask yourself to work along side your wider health and selfcare aims;
• how do you start the day?- is your phone the first thing you see? Caffeine or carbs the first thing you eat?
• do habits in your day calm your nervous system?- can you wrap up and walk? Close your laptop to focus on eating? Step out for for your 10min break?
• does your food nourish you or just hold you up? - are you relying on caffeine and sugar to boost you? Does it feel like you indulge then restrict? Do you understand what your food actually gives you? Are you eating when you can rather than when you need to?
• Is your down time actually restful and restorative? -replying to emails even when you finish work? Looking at screens right till lights off? Trying to squeeze in 'relaxation' at the expense of sleep? Sleep never enough or good quality?

Of course, the next steps are then to how to make simple changes to make these serve you better. And this is exactly what we do in clinic, whether the focus is purely on longevity and wellness or to aid a skin health or antiaging treatment plan.

Now go enjoy your weekend!

Wellness testing can be just a fad...
..if the implications of results can't be appropriately acted on.

I find wellness testing such a useful tool to shed light on many concerns.
Concerns such as such;
• why do I have treatment resistant acne?
• why is my hair thinning and skin always dry?
• why do I feel like I have aged 10 years in the last 1?!

But identifying these key aspects...
1) nutrient deficiencies
2) raised iflammatory markers
3) hormone instability
4) gut dysbiosis..with no ability to provide follow up guidance on lifestyle, nutrition, supplements, or even advice as to referral onwards for specialist medical support at worst can lead to well meaning but potentially wrong and harmful choices.

My background in general practice and medicine allows me to understand when you may need to see a nutritionist, when a menopause clinic maybe best or to explain the processes involved in a good weight management service. As well as provide you with specific wellness advice in clinic to ensure you are age well inside and out.

Should have been the case 10 years ago, and will still be true 10 years from now.

For years I have been working to these values. Even though specialities and trends move towards conveyor belt consults, quick plastering-over the cracks fixes, and monetised trends dressed up as health and wellness.

In 2026 choose a route that give you, and allows you to give yourself, care and support on deeper levels. On all levels. Whether I am talking about general health, wellness, longevity and antiaging or skin and aesthetics these all ring true.

HEALTHY BODY. HEALTHY MIND. HEALTHY SKIN

No such thing as quick turn around here

Talking as humans, being given time, and being seen as a person and not just as 'they're the cheek filler' or 'now it's the microneedling' is frankly what we are all owed.

For you it is reassurance, relaxation and care.
For me its why I thoroughly enjoy my work and can give my all without burnout. (I am not completely selfless!)

Whatever you want, whether it's to leave with tailored wellness and longevity advice, formulate a personal skin care plan or navigate a regenerative skin or aesthetics journey...

Never feel rushed.
See value beyond the product or treatment.
(And enjoy yourself!)

13/12/2025

Clever quick wins can be great to keep us motivated and on track.

Especially when in reality the deeper healing and lasting benefits takes significant time.

This is not saying they should be relied upon to simply 'plaster over the cracks' and all too often I meet new patients who's journey with other practitioners had previously relied too heavily upon toxin and dermal filler.

But a clever treatment plan should take in to account the fact that most regenerative treatments such as biostimulators, energy based devices and even skin care actives take time to really see results.

What's more for most, it is a combination of factors that play into the concerns you see, some of which would absolutely benefit from subtle support and volume from dermal fillers or the relaxing and rebalancing of overactive muscles that cleverly placed toxin can achieve.

So for those whome this is the case for, it can be a great option to hit the ground running and achieve natural and lasting results from the off.

What better than to fight trends than with trends!?

In this world it's often who or what shouts loudest that gets traction. But remember traction doesn't mean caliber, value or even benefit.

FOMO, peer pressure, social and societal perceived norms, so many aspects play into us going along with the crowd, but try to remember that on here things often dance to the same tune, the tune of marketing and clicks.

Dance to your own tune. It's far more beautiful.
