It’s now almost 16 months, and still Beth sleeps. 16 long blooming months in a Kleine - Levin Syndrome episode. Her longest episode before this was 6-7 months ( and that is considered long) so this is her longest by far. Her days are spent mainly sleeping. If she hasn’t woken by 10-11pm (at night) which is most often the case we try and wake her to make sure she has, at minimum, fluids in her. We have spoken to her kls doctor and they were concerned that her other health problems might be preventing her from coming out of the episode, and they might need to see her in London. But we are still waiting to hear back.
So, she is sleeping her life away. When she emerges from this bout she will have little memory of this time so will have lost almost 18 months of her young life. And still counting.
