We are absolutely thrilled to officially introduce one of our team members in our care family, Stacey. Since joining us, Stacey has already proven to be an incredible asset to our team and a blessing to the families she supports.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of a fresh pedicure! 👣✨

Today, we accompanied one of our lovely ladies to visit the wonderful Tina at Prime Foot Clinic - Denton. After a little gentle encouragement to get out of the house, she was so glad she did.

Her nails hadn’t been done in a while and were starting to feel uncomfortable. We often find that for many of our clients, reaching their feet or managing thicker nails becomes a real challenge.

That is why professional care is so vital. A specialist like Tina doesn't just trim nails; they provide a full health check that can spot circulation issues or early signs of infection that are easily missed at home.

Our lady was so pleased with the results! She said her feet felt "wonderful" and commented on how much better she felt in herself. It’s a perfect reminder that healthy feet are the foundation of staying mobile and independent. ❤️

Nowt like a 1,000-piece puzzle to get the brain cells firing! 🧠 We nearly lost the will to live with this one—too much sky for our liking. ☁️ Thankfully, our client’s son staged a rescue mission. He’s done it dozens of times (unfair advantage if you ask us!), but we aren't saying nowt. 😂

In all seriousness, puzzles are a total game-changer for our clients living with dementia. They help improve short-term memory and can even lower blood pressure by creating a 'meditative' state. Just... maybe start with a bit less sky than we did! 🧩

🧠 Today's game of the week was fish 🐟 🙌 ♠️♥️♦️♣️.

Today, we sat down with one of our lovely ladies for some old-school cards. It’s a way to quiet those voices that say 'I’m not contributing enough.' To us, her presence is the greatest contribution of all.
Watching her navigate the rules and engage in social play is a masterclass in resilience. We are so privileged to provide the safe space she deserves to explore her memory and find her way back to the 'now.' She will often say "I just don't want to become a burden". We say "You are never a burden when you are this loved". ✨"

Playing cards are an effective tool for stimulating cognitive function, improving memory, and encouraging social interaction in individuals with dementia.

Sometimes a person with dementia will behave in ways that are difficult to understand in the late afternoon or early evening. This is known as 'Sundowning'.

Sundowning can happen at any stage of dementia but is more common during the middle stage and later stages.

💖 So, What Exactly Do We Do? 🛠️

It’s the question we hear most often! The simple answer is: We bring a little bit of beautiful back into daily life. We step in to do whatever’s needed to make things a little easier, a little smoother, and certainly a lot cheerier 😉.

Take the lovely couple we’re supporting at the moment. The husband, who is navigating the complexities of vascular dementia (currently at Stage 4), is still quite capable and independent—though perhaps not as agile as his younger self!

That’s where we come in. Those tricky "odd jobs" around the house that now require a bit of extra patience (and maybe a stronger back) are handled by us.

And let me tell you, his former life as a successful boss and business owner? Those management skills never leave you! 👏 We absolutely love that he remains actively involved, offering his expert guidance and ensuring things are done his way—as they rightly should be!

We recently had the pleasure of assembling these handsome chairs, and under his expert direction, we think they look absolutely fabulous 👌. A perfect team effort!

🕊 A tribute to Josiphine Drury 🕊

This tribute has been difficult to write, as my heart is heavy with loss. But as I look through my camera roll, a wave of pure happiness fills me Josie ❤️.

Over the past three years of caring for you, our bond blossomed into something incredibly special. You used to tell me I was your best friend, and it’s true; we became the dearest of friends, and I cared for you more deeply than words can say.

You were with me from the very beginning of my business journey 🧡. My little boys, so tiny then, would often come to work with me. They adored playing with Poppy the cat, and I remember how their youthful energy and laughter brought such a wonderful lift to your spirits in those early days. Because of those precious times, they grew up knowing you, and you became like family. I was also so fortunate to get to know your lovely daughter, Audrey, and your son, Gary—a connection I will cherish always.

Your passing has been a profound shock, and I think we are all still struggling to process this immense loss, myself included 💔. Yet, the light you brought to this world shines brighter than any sorrow ✨. Everyone who knew you adored you, drawn in by your marvelous, wicked sense of humor and that wonderful, direct honesty that took "no nonsense!" You were truly the funniest, most caring, and loving woman. Full of personality and grit, you never lost your brilliant spark, even as your dementia progressed over the years.

My last visit with you at your care home was a gift I will treasure forever, even though I didn't know it was a final goodbye. I am so grateful to have that memory, to have that picture of your wonderful smile, and the video that perfectly captured the beautiful, vital energy you always possessed ❤️.

The sun shone so brightly and warmly upon us as we stood by your side that day, a perfect reflection of your own spirit 🌞.

I miss you and love you always, my dear friend.
