Falls from bikes, scooters, skateboards and rollerskates are incredibly common. But some of these accidents can lead to life-changing head injuries.

Please encourage your child to wear a helmet every time they go out on wheels to protect their head. And, don’t forget to lead by example and wear yours too!

Remember no helmet = no wheels

A Personalized Asthma Action Plan (or PAAP),isn’t just a piece of paper that you stick on your fridge!

It’s your personal, bespoke plan for staying in control with your asthma or wheeze.

It shows you:
✔️ Your daily medications and how to use them 💨
✔️ What your “normal” breathing looks like 🫁
✔️ Early warning signs your asthma is getting worse ⚠️
✔️ Exactly what to do in each stage (green, amber, red 🚦)
✔️ When to get medical help 🚑

Because when you’ve got a PAAP, your asthma doesn’t run the show—you do! 💪💪

Small children aren’t the only ones at risk of swallowing magnets. Many teens and tweens have accidentally swallowed them too.

One common scenario is when they try to create a fake tongue piercing using two magnetic balls and accidentally swallow them.

It happens so easily. But the magnets can attract to each other inside the body, sticking together and tearing holes in your child’s gut. This can cause life-changing injuries.

⚠️Please talk to older children about the dangers of putting magnets in or near their mouths.

Eczema isn’t just about skin - it can also impact confidence, friendships and school life. Children with eczema often face bullying or unkindness which affects their self-esteem. Our online school workshops help classmates understand eczema and how to support friends who have it.

From story time in nurseries to primary school science experiments, sessions are fun, engaging and celebrate difference.

💬“The teasing she was receiving has stopped since the workshop and everyone wants to help her which is lovely.” - Parent of a 6-year-old

💙 How to help your child with asthma 💙

1️⃣ make sure you have a good idea of what their asthma triggers are, so that you can try to reduce exposure as much as possible 🐱🌳🌧️🥜⛹🏽‍♂️

2️⃣ if they have a preventer inhaler, make sure they’re taking it every day 🗓️ even when they feel fine. Otherwise the inflammation in their lungs🫁 isn’t being treated.

3️⃣ get them an asthma action plan 📋 🚦 this is a self management guide and is essential for understanding their inhalers and what to do if they have an asthma attack ⚠️

4️⃣ know how to give them their inhalers and use their spacer 💨
If they have a breath-actuated inhaler, make sure their technique is right. have inhaler technique videos in their website.

5️⃣ arrange an annual asthma review for them with your 🩺 GP or Practice Nurse to ensure they have a regular checkup 🔍
