I advise that after a massage you should wait at least 24 to 48 hours before any physical activity depending on the treatment you have received. Once your body has initiated the repair response the body should have recovered from the treatment, treatments allow the possibility for elite performance allowing you to reach your personal best during your next training session this happens because the therapist has relaxed the muscles from any tension, tight facia and any adhesions that may have occurred during previous training as well as replenishing oxygen filled blood supply to the muscles and tissues while removing toxins and waste products from the body.

Massages are known to relieve muscle soreness and tension, they promote circulation, flush toxins and lactic acid from the body and they also ease the intensity of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

To help reduce the stress that your muscles have been through and to help them relax; whether it be a difficult week of training or after the big run day. You ideally want to get your massage 3 days post run, this enables your body to complete the 2 day healing stage and deal with the acute symptoms of post run (marathon/half marathon/10k etc) soreness and muscle damage.

ᴡʜʏ ᴅᴏ ᴡᴇ ᴅᴏ ᴄʟɪᴇɴᴛ ᴄᴏɴsᴜʟᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴs

All treatments come with a client consultation. Not only because it's a legal requirement before any treatment can take place, but it also allows me to provide a more personal treatment plan for each client. All treatments can be adapted to help you receive the right treatment for you.

By having a consultation it will also help us to track your development over future treatments that may happen. With all my consultations I provide a posture analysis; this will be recorded and reviewed with each treatment to help improve any posture issues.

As some of you may not know me here’s a little profile…
Name: Melissa
Age…Growing

Here’s my background, I have studied graphic design for 5 years and gained a BA Honour degree in graphic design so all designs are my own but where did massage come into that?… well when we got hit by a global pandemic I started a weight-loss journey and started to gain an interest in sport, Like most people I dreaded stretching thought there was honestly NOTHING WORSE then days laters I would suffer terribly with DOMS and then eventually caused a lot of injuries with continues of training due to straining. During this time I massaged my mum due to a shoulder injury coursing her a lot of issues and buy doing this it actually helped and speeded up her recovery. I enjoyed the feeling of helping someone recover so I applied for a massage therapist course at the Manchester college and here we are today! Officially a qualified sport therapist. Moral of this story is…STRETCHING IS AWFUL but Suffering from DOMS is worse!
