Stepping back into your community starts with one confident step 💙

We’re excited to launch our new 4-week community walking programme—designed to help you walk further, feel stronger, and rebuild confidence in everyday environments.

This programme combines 1:1 therapy with targeted strength and conditioning sessions, giving you the support and tools you need to move with more ease and independence.

If you or someone you know is experiencing difficulty with walking, reduced confidence outdoors, or recovering from neurological injury or illness, we’re here to help.

Making it count ➡️ Side lying into function

We’ve set the position… now let’s use it 👀

In this final part, Claudio shows how side lying isn’t just a “resting” posture — it’s a powerful place to start building movement that carries over into gait 🚶‍♀️

Think:
✨ Activation through the trunk
✨ Loading through the foot
✨ Preparing the body for stepping patterns

And if side lying feels a bit too unstable for your patient?
👉 Don’t scrap it — scale it
Small changes (like support or positioning tweaks) can unlock BIG improvements in stability and control

This is where your handling makes the difference 💙

💬 How are you using side lying in your sessions?
Drop your go-to cues, tweaks or questions below — let’s share ideas!

🥳 PART 3 ~~ Side lying → supine.

Claudio explores how hip extension and the abductors can drive the movement, while keeping the abdominals organised and encouraging loading through the foot.

A nice reminder that this facilitation can also become an active strengthening exercise for the hip. 💡

Clinical thought… who might benefit most from this?
Hint: think low tone.

Part 4/4 next.

Making movement *possible* and making it and *likely* to happen.

In this postural set for the transition from supine to side lying, Claudio explores how skilled handling can influence the probability of movement success. Through thoughtful facilitation and segmental preparation, we can shape alignment, recruit selective activity, and create the conditions for efficient trunk rotation.

It’s not about forcing a movement.
It’s about organising the body so the movement is possible.

Because quality input changes output.

Rolling into something new 👀➡️

MNC’s new teaching series with Claudio is here, and the entire focus is the supine to side lying transition.

In this first video, Claudio breaks down:
– what side lying actually allows us to do
– why we’d choose this position in practice

Sometimes a small change in position makes a big difference.

👐🏼 THERAPEUTIC HANDLING COURSE🎬

We had such a great October course with Linzi Meadows and Sue Armstrong ✨, diving into the art and power of therapeutic handling. It’s amazing to see how skilled, thoughtful handling can support movement and create meaningful activity 💪👐

As the CSP says, the art of therapy is quiet but powerful: listening 👂, adapting in the moment 🔄, and building trust 🤝 when someone feels most uncertain. It’s not a soft skill—it’s a super skill that drives real change 🌟
