Why dissolving and refilling lip filler on the same day isn’t a good idea 👄

Dissolving lip filler and refilling immediately might sound like a quick fix but medically it’s not best practice.

When we dissolve filler we use hyaluronidase an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. This enzyme doesn’t switch off instantly. It can stay active in the tissue for hours and sometimes days meaning any new filler placed the same day can also be broken down.

More importantly
• The lips are already inflamed and traumatised after dissolving
• Swelling can distort the true lip shape
• It increases the risk of overfilling migration uneven results and vascular complications
• You’re injecting into tissue that hasn’t had time to settle or heal

The safest most predictable approach is
✨ Dissolve
✨ Allow swelling to fully settle usually 1–2 weeks
✨ Reassess the lips properly
✨ Rebuild gradually and intentionally

Good aesthetic results come from patience planning and tissue respect not rushing the process.
