RUN THE ISLAND

We are now just two weeks out from the start of the challenge, and we're diving into the detail of what's ahead...

Run The Island is exactly what it sounds like: a running challenge taking us all the way around the island of Mallorca, following the legendary 312km cycling loop.
7 days.
7 marathons.
Back to back.
No days off.

We'll start and finish in Camp de Mar, at George's family home, heading out clockwise around the island. The route follows the famous 312 cycling course, taking on a mix of road and gravel as we trace the coastline and cut across the island's most iconic landscapes.

The first two days will be the toughest on paper, climbing through the breathtaking Serra de Tramuntana along the scenic coastal road. Big elevation. Big views. Long, exposed stretches.
After that, the elevation eases as we move into the flatter eastern and southern parts of the island — along beach boardwalks and long stretches of coastal paths - before finally running across Palma Bay, with the finish line waiting back in Camp de Mar. A full circle. I
But this challenge is about more than just miles.

We're taking on Run The Island to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support — a charity close to our hearts, as it is for so many others, providing vital support to people living with cancer and their families.

If you'd like to support the challenge and help us make a real difference, please consider donating via the link below. Every contribution, big or small, truly goes a long way.

We'll be sharing a deeper dive into each day's route very soon - elevation, terrain, distances and what we expect each stage to bring.
Stay tuned. The island is waiting...

This one means more than miles and it is about time we shared the real reason behind RUN THE ISLAND.

2026 would have been a special year for a special man.

My dad, Simon Lilleywhite, would have turned 60 in May.

We lost him to cancer in 2018 - but not a day goes by where we don't feel his influence.
Mallorca was his place. The island the Lilleywhite family has been visiting since the 1970s. Sun, sea, laughter, long dinners, tamily chaos - and my dad right at the centre of it all.

But beyond the holidays, he gave us something even greater. He dedicated his time to driving me (and sometimes David) up and down the country to running races, waterpolo matches and rugby games. David and I have always connected through the sports we played together, and it was common to see Simon cheering us both on from the sidelines.

Our love of sport — and our drive to push each other - was shaped by him, and by our incredible families who've backed us every step of the way.
So RUN THE ISLAND isn't just 312km in 7 days.

It's a tribute.
To the big man.
To family.
To friendship.
To everyone who's ever stood on the sidelines for us.

Now you know why we're doing this... we'd love your support.

Please consider supporting an amazing charity, and two incredible guys who are taking on a monumental challenge in memory of our dad Simon Lilleywhite who would have been 60 this year 🫶🤍✨

This run isn’t about distance. We are two old-school pals, living in different countries, but are connected by sport, the outdoors, and a shared love of pushing our limits.

Along the way, we’ve been backed by some truly incredible people, friends, family, supporters, and this is our way of honouring them.

The Mission: Run the Island - Mallorca

312 kilometres. 7 days.

Every single step counts.

Why Mallorca?

George's family have holidayed every year in Mallorca since he was small and going back further, so did his Dad, Simon. To honour what would of been Simon's 60th Birthday this year, we are undertaking a monumental challenge to raise money and awareness for MacMillan Cancer Support Charity.

We’re turning effort into meaning, and you can be part of it.

Thank you for supporting the journey. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️❤️

2026 marks 129 years of Lilleywhite Funeral Service, where my family have served our local community for five generations of our family. I have managed our funeral service for nearly 8 years, and I am so very proud of our valued presence in the local community.

Following my father's passing I truly understand the importance of funeral directors and the astounding work myself and my team do. It is an honour and a privilege to continue the legacy of my father, and my grandfathers before him. To work in a space where he loved and spent so much time gives me comfort, and through helping families through their darkest moment, I feel so close to him knowing the countless hours where he did the same.

Over the past 8 years I have held countless hands, hugged thousands of grieving family members and spent every moment of my life dedicated to improving the experience of people that have lost someone they love. Having felt immeasurable loss myself.

Being a funeral director is a vocation, every member of our team here dedicate their days to helping people navigate the most difficult times of their lives. We are here for you when you need us most, and we will continue to support you for many years to come.

The past 12 months have been a whirlwind for everyone, and I hope 2026 is kinder to us all. If you have lost someone this year, I hope you learn to fill your heart with all the memories and joyous times you spent together. And for those people that are finding things tough, I hope you find peace and times that show you nothing but love and happiness.
May this year bring hope and kindness to us all.
With love, Amy xx

As we start a new year, all my love to everyone starting this year without someone. Someone who was a part of your life, someone you cared for deeply and shared so many beautiful memories. Starting a new year without them can feel so hard, I know, but carry them with you in your heart. They are never far away as long as you treasure their memory and all the beautiful things you shared together 🤍✨🫶

FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN

It’s my first Christmas in heaven,
I’ve been dreading it all through the year.
Knowing that you will be lonely,
lost to the joy and the cheer.

I’ve been sending sweet robins to find you,
and feathers have brought you my love.
I’ve been whispering secrets to raindrops,
hoping you’ll hear me above.

It’s my first Christmas in heaven,
it’s a wonderful place to exist…
And the only sadness that finds me,
is wishing I wasn’t so missed.

Because if you look closely, you’ll see me,
in every small thing that you do.
I’m the joy that sneaks in through the window,
when you stop to admire the view.

I’m the laughter that gasps from your sadness
when your soul frees itself from this pain.
I’m the comfort that warms through your blanket
as you wrap yourself up from the rain.

It’s my first Christmas in heaven,
and they told me that this would be tough.
All I can do, is remind you, you’re loved
and I’ll pray, every day, it’s enough.
