We’ve had a lovely, busy day here today! 😊

This morning at Gents Club, the gentlemen made a fantastic effort out in the garden. There was plenty of weeding and tidying done and the garden is now all ready for planting. Well done to everyone who got stuck in! 🌱

After all the hard work, we warmed our hands with a nice brew and a good natter, sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company.

This afternoon our ladies came together and we got creative making Easter bunny placemats, which brought lots of smiles and laughter. 🐰

A fun-filled day for everyone!

Today we enjoyed doing a little bit of Easter crafts and whilst listening to Andre Rieu, our Pat from our wellbeing team shown the residents how Greeks dance and how they smash plates (using paper plates of course) 🇬🇷🇬🇷
This afternoon we enjoyed our weekly session of bingo with a little change on scenery for our Wharton residents, they headed down onto Peel unit and our lovely Val took over the bingo calling and we must say she is a pro 👏🏻👏🏻

What a wonderful afternoon we have had today, Banana Enterprise- Mike & Me came to entertain our lovely residents 🎤🎸 we were also joined by our sister home Farnworth Care Home ❤️ we had a lovely afternoon which has been filled with laughter and singing 🥰 and our gorgeous Val met back up with an old friend who has known her husband for over 60years, and they recognise each other straight away 🥰❤️

We would like to thank Farnworth Care Home for inviting us to their home this afternoon, where we met Genie the Harris Hawk who is 19years old, our residents enjoyed sitting in the sun and getting to know residents from Farnworth and finding out a lot about Genie. Keep an eye out for when Genie will be visiting our home. Our lovely Hylda also enjoyed a little pamper down at our salon

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SHAUN MORRISSY

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our much-loved Home Manager Shaun

His loss has been felt profoundly throughout not just our home but the whole community.

The warmth of our home, the laughter in our lounges, the dedication of our team, and the comfort felt by our residents all reflect the values he lived and worked by. His legacy will continue in the standards he set, the culture he built, and the countless lives he touched.

Shaun was more than a leader — he was a constant source of strength, kindness, and reassurance to everyone who walked through our doors. His dedication to our residents was unwavering, and he led our home with compassion, integrity, and heart.

For our residents, Shaun was a familiar smile, a listening ear, and a steady presence. For families, he was a source of comfort and trust, always placing the wellbeing and dignity of their loved ones at the centre of everything he did. For our staff team, he was a mentor and an inspiration who believed deeply in creating a warm, supportive environment where both residents and colleagues could thrive.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

We are grateful for the time, leadership, and humanity he shared with us.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

This weekend was all about creativity, connection, and a little sprinkle of springtime magic 🌸💐

Our residents spent the afternoon crafting beautiful handmade treasures as we look ahead to warmer days and start thinking about Mother’s Day. The room was filled with laughter, stories, and the soft rustle of ribbons and paper as everyone added their own special touch to each creation.

From delicate spring flowers to heartfelt keepsakes, every piece was made with love. For many of our residents, crafting brings back cherished memories of making things for their own mothers and children — and it was so special to see those memories shared around the table.

There’s something truly wonderful about welcoming spring together — new beginnings, bright colors, and meaningful moments. 💛

We can’t wait to share these beautiful creations with families soon. Stay tuned for a little Mother’s Day surprise!

🎶✨ Music, Memories & a Wonderful Afternoon! ✨🎶

Today we welcomed back Pauline & Mike from Banana Enterprise for another fantastic afternoon of music and fun! 🎤🎵

The room was filled with singing, laughter, and plenty of toe-tapping as our residents joined in for a great sing-along. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and hear everyone’s favourite tunes filling the air.

A huge thank you to Pauline & Mike for bringing such joy and energy — our residents thoroughly enjoyed every moment! 💛

After receiving our first letter from across the pond ✉️ , two of our lovely Ladies Olwyn and Pam have been busy writing back to our penpals in Australia 🇦🇺 their letters are now all ready for posting. We can’t wait to hear back from them!

🎶 This afternoon we were delighted to welcome back The Streetgate Strummers. With plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits on hand, we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon filled with the cheerful sounds of the ukulele.
