90% of the Laughter Yoga Leaders I’ve trained had no special skills when they started.⁣☀️

No performance background. No therapy training. No comedy experience.⁣

Just curiosity - and a willingness to show up.⁣

And here’s something I’ve noticed over the years. A lot of them have ADHD.⁣

☀️Creative, spontaneous, dopamine-seeking brains. Turns out, Laughter Yoga is one of the most ADHD-friendly things you can do.⁣☀️

If you’ve ever felt like you’re “not the right type” for something like this, I’d gently challenge that.⁣

You don’t need to be funny. You don’t need to perform. You just need to be human.⁣😁

A huge thank you to Accenture for funding the Laughter Yoga session which took place yesterday. ⁣

Social impact really is at the heart of everything we do. Making a positive difference to lives ❤️ ⁣

I’ve just been processing the wellbeing surveys and excited to share the results 💛 ⁣

Yesterday I saw stress happening first hand and also the difference after laughing. Transformations 🥳. ⁣

When there’s a huge challenge turning on laughter may seem the last thing you want to do…Importantly, it’s the most effective activity to demolish emotional and physical stress simultaneously, and emotionally regulate. ⁣💛

Last Thursday I visited the wonderful women of Norden WI in Rochdale for our most popular talk - Laughter For The Health Of It. 🌟⁣

And the results? They speak for themselves.⁣

In just a few laughter exercises, the participants reported a 43% reduction in stress, a 39% improvement in their breathing and relaxation, a 36% boost in energy, and a 32% increase in motivation. ⁣

Positivity rose by 20% and - this one really warms my heart - their sense of friendship and connection went up too.⁣

One participant summed it up perfectly: “Need it.” ⁣
Two words. ⁣
Everything.⁣

This is what laughter does. Not jokes. Not comedy. Just playful, breathwork-based exercises that remind your body it’s safe to relax. ⁣

For older adults especially, that matters enormously - for sleep, for loneliness, for managing the everyday aches and worries that life brings.⁣

Stress Awareness Month feels like the perfect time to talk about this. 💛⁣
