Last Thursday I visited the wonderful women of Norden WI in Rochdale for our most popular talk - Laughter For The Health Of It. 🌟
And the results? They speak for themselves.
In just a few laughter exercises, the participants reported a 43% reduction in stress, a 39% improvement in their breathing and relaxation, a 36% boost in energy, and a 32% increase in motivation.
Positivity rose by 20% and - this one really warms my heart - their sense of friendship and connection went up too.
One participant summed it up perfectly: “Need it.”
Two words.
Everything.
This is what laughter does. Not jokes. Not comedy. Just playful, breathwork-based exercises that remind your body it’s safe to relax.
For older adults especially, that matters enormously - for sleep, for loneliness, for managing the everyday aches and worries that life brings.
