Joan Quinn:

Joan passed away peacefully after a long illness at her home in Miles Platting, on November 24th 2025, comforted by her loving family, aged 84 years. The loving and devoted Wife of the late John Quinn (Now Reunited). A precious and cherished Mum of James and John. Treasured Gran of Matthew & Declan, and dear Mother-In-Law of Lisa. Loving Sister of Ann, and the late Syd, Roy, Herbert, Evelyn, Maureen and Mary. Also a dear Auntie who will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all her family & friends.

Olugbenga Adefeyisan (Ben):

Ben passed away peacefully at Doves Nest Nursing Home on Tuesday 25th November, aged 70 years. A cherished and loving Dad and adored Grandad. A treasured Brother, Uncle and loyal friend, who will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

Alexandra Griffiths:

Sadly on the 18th November, Alexandra (Sandy) passed away peacefully in hospital. A much loved Daughter to Vera and Alexandra Hughes (now reunited). A dearly loved Cousin to Christine, Sydney and Norman (Australia), also adored Cousin in law. She will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered by all her family and friends. Family flowers only please, donations preferred to The British Heart Foundation, or the Cat Rescue Society.

On Wednesday 10th December, Alexandra will be received into the Roman Catholic Church of St Dunstan's, for a Requiem Mass at 10.00am, followed by committal at Blackley Crematorium at 11.30am. Graham Maguire:

Sadly on the 16th November, in hospital, Graham passed away suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. The treasured Son of the late Annie and Albert, now reunited, and beloved best friend to Rita (RIP). Much loved and adored Dad to Nicola, Graham and the Late Jayne (RIP). Wonderful, loved, Father in law to Ian, and a cherished and adored Grandad to Ian, Natasha, Daniel, Nuno and Connor. A Great Grandad to Leo-Kai, Ebony-Jayne (R.I.P), Winter-Rae, Delilah-Grace and Hallie-Mae. Also a dearly loved Brother to Ann and Rodney, and now reunited with his Late Brothers and Sister, Bert, Brian, Yvonne and Michael (RIP). He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered. Family flowers only by request, donations preferred to The British Heart Foundation UK.

During our Greater Manchester Funeral Service Memorial Ceremony we received many kind donations.

We managed to raise an excellent total of £479.60, which will be divided equally between Francis House Children's Hospice, and St Dunstan's RC Church, Moston.

We would like to say a big thank you to all those who donated, your generosity is appreciated.

On Sunday we held our annual Greater Manchester Funeral Service Memorial Ceremony to remember all those who have passed away, and the families we have served over the past year.

The service was beautiful and very emotional, and there was a fantastic attendance from all those invited. Hopefully you all gained some comfort from the service.

We would like to say a big thank you to all the Ministers and members of the Clergy who were there, for helping to make the day so special for everyone who attended. Also thank you to the Parish Priest of St Dunstan's Fr. Job, for hosting us in his Church.

May they all Rest In Peace.

Here at Greater Manchester Funeral Service we now offer a Direct Cremation funeral package for £1600 in total, including the cremation fee.

HOWEVER, we do things differently to the companies you may see advertised on television. We always provide a traditional hearse, and four of our pall bearers on the day of the funeral. Ensuring that you still receive the same dignity and care that you expect from us.

Our team here at Greater Manchester Funeral Service were honoured to be invited to the Buganda Kingdom UK Dinner 2025, held in Manchester. This is the very first time it has been held anywhere outside of London. The dinner is organised to raise awareness, strengthen unity and for discussions on different issues.

Together with Rap & Sons Ltd, we offer Bugandans meaningful and culturally rich funeral options, providing families with a respectful way to honour their loved ones.

The Kabaka was represented on the night by the First Prime Minister Prof. Twaha Kaawaase Kigongo, who greeted his people living all over England and Ireland, and thanked them for their work.

Greater Manchester Funeral Service had the honour of hosting the Buganda Kingdom First Prime Minister Prof. Twaha Kaawaase Kigongo at our chapel of rest in Moston, for the Olubugo Barkcloth launch programme.

Michael and the team have partnered with Rap & Sons Ltd, to present the sustainable Ugandan ancient fabric made from the inner bark of the Mutuba tree. This can be used in preparing Bugandans who have passed away in other countries. This eco-friendly alternative, offers a meaningful and culturally rich option for funerals, providing families with a natural and respectful way to honour their loved ones.

Michael, of Moston, passed away in hospital on 23rd October aged 65 years. A loving Son of the late Emily and Denis Donnellan (Now Re-united). A much loved and adored Brother and Brother-in-law. A caring and dearly loved Uncle and Great-uncle, and also a loved Cousin and Friend.

On Wednesday 26th November, Michael will be received into St Dunstan's Catholic Church, Moston lane, Moston, for Requiem Mass at 10.00am, and will be laid to rest at St Joseph's Cemetery, Moston.
