I was at Liverpool Exhibition Centre on Tuesday for the annual Foot and Ankle Show 👣

This event is the place to be for practitioners in the foot and ankle health industry, and after such a great experience last year I had to come again.

These events are all so valuable to my continued development and very enjoyable. It’s all about keeping the population healthy and active foot-wise.

I had a fantastic day, and it was great to get out of the clinic for a moment and be surrounded by so many other industry professionals 💙

Foot care questions? I've got answers 💙

Over the years, I've noticed certain questions come up time and time again.

So I thought I'd answer some of the most common ones right here...

❔ Why would I need to see a foot specialist?

✅ If you normally look after your own feet and something starts to feel wrong, contact a foot specialist if it continues. You may have developed an issue which can be swiftly identified and rectified. Also, contact a specialist for foot care if you can’t reach or see your feet or if your hands have become less dexterous.

❔ Should I see the GP or a foot specialist?

✅ GP advice is generally sound, but nothing beats specialist knowledge. If you require speedy attention, a private foot health practitioner will see you sooner than a routine GP appointment may be available.

❔ How often should I visit a foot specialist?

✅ A general guideline is approximately every 6-8 weeks for those needing foot care. However, I have patients whom I see every 3-4 months only and one who needs treatment monthly! Let your feet be the guide; you’ll often feel it when you need to come in.
