'At 89, I lift weights and power walk every week – this is the routine that keeps me strong and mobile'.

Valerie Bailey has been active throughout her life. In 1989, she ran the London Marathon and another 20-mile race, and the Lancaster Race Series Garstang 10K in 1992. Now, at 89, the former NHS nurse is still a self-professed ‘get fit fanatic’ whose weekly sessions include a robust combination of strength training, stretching, power walking and teaching an aerobics class.

Today we celebrated Retro Day and had such a wonderful time! We listened to old music, had a good sing and dance, and enjoyed lots of smiles and laughter along the way. 💃🕺

Everyone loved looking at the memory table and reminiscing about the past, sharing stories and special moments together. It was a lovely trip down memory lane and a day full of happiness. ❤️
