What is yoga? What is ahimsa? How do we manage the way we interact in personal relationships and our businesses ? Can we be efficient whilst still maintaining ethical standards?

Yes we can! As you probably already have experienced as yoga teachers and practitioners, there are many who operate under the name of yoga and yet have no understanding or embodiment of the precepts of the practice and teachings. And of course in a definite minority are those who do their best to make mindful conscious choices in everything they do.

In tonight’s teacher mentoring session I would like to explore how we do this of course along with anything else that you would like to bring along.
I still have 2 spaces on this small group event so get in touch if you would love to join me!

Hello, Just a reminder that this Thursday night 6th November is Yoga Teacher mentoring with me from 6.45-8.15pm.

I would love to see you there whether you are feeling the need to connect with other teachers, have a particular issue to discuss or maybe are just feeling overwhelmed by the current state of the well being sphere.

As I am sure we are all aware the current economic and geopolitical climate is making life harder for so many people including those who are trying to offer support and stability amidst the chaos.

This online space is inclusive, compassionate, practical and supportive. You will feel held and listened to and hopefully we will find some useful suggestions to help you .

I have been mentoring teachers since 2012 and it is something I love and feel passionately about.
Teacher training and CPD alone just isn’t enough. Just like other therapy professions we should be having regular supervision and mentoring. This is especially important as we often find ourselves working in isolation.

If you have never attended any of my events before maybe this from one of my long term mentees will reassure you

“Taking teacher mentoring sessions with Jane has been one of the best decisions I made this year! My journey with yoga and some of the yoga world had been disappointing and I was stuck in a bit of a rut.
From the first session I felt seen and understood and I left feeling empowered and ready to start making changes that were long overdue.

Jane is so kind, and although it seems like what she is suggesting is simple, I realise that beneath that is a profundity that is the result of many years practice, study and teaching.

And she is very funny putting you immediately at ease with her humility and gentle straightforwardness.

I strongly recommend these sessions to all yoga teachers. You will learn so much!’

I am back into my daily walks and today was a beautiful autumnal afternoon in the park.I missed these colours and this light last year as I was in India so am soaking it up before all the trees are bare!

Autumn is a time of transition that I find inspiring, as well as just a little melancholy.

The sky was immense and it cannot be captured by a humble phone camera. There was a tiny bit of rain and the brief appearance of a frail rainbow 🌈 .

I never get tired of nature, it is endlessly fascinating and always changing. Even when we are sad or worried, it has a way of holding us steady and safe and reassuring us.

I hope that you can find a moment this weekend to be soothed by some aspect of the natural world.

This is a picture of vegetables I grew on my allotment a few years ago. Fresh produce straight from the earth is always amazing and at this time of year we have so many root vegetables, squash and gourds to create grounding dishes with warming spices.

This is one aspect of Ayurveda for seasonal support, and this evening from 6.45 we will be looking in more detail at practical solutions for this changing season.

We will look at the food we eat and daily routines to find ways to nourish and support ourselves and loved ones.

If you are free and would like to join us the session will be online from 6.45-8.15.

Just contact me for details of the zoom code.

Autumn is definitely upon us and so it is time for some restorative practices to help us move through this transitional season.

In Ayurveda we are encouraged to look at all aspects of our life to take appropriate support. We make changes to our daily routines, diet, practices and even to the way we speak to ourselves!

However for so many people just pushing through regardless can be the default.

So in this workshop we will take our time to journey through a selection of appropriate practices to help us.

Starting with floor based gentle mobilisation practices to remove stagnation (tamas)we will gradually deepen our connection to the breath and bhava as we take the longer held restorative postures.

We will introduce simple mantra and focus on sound to prepare for deep relaxation and refreshing and clarifying meditation.

You will leave the session feeling uplifted and revitalised ready for whatever the week ahead holds .

There are still spaces available so get in touch soon to reserve your place.

I look forward to seeing you soon x

I know that when the world feels busy it can seem counter intuitive to stop or even to slow down.

But imagine how it would feel to take yourself away to a peaceful location just 40 minutes from the hustle of Manchester City life. You arrive, and as soon as you put down your bag, you can feel yourself starting to unburden yourself.

You switch off your phone and take yourself for a late afternoon walk through the Cistercian Abbey ruins, burnished copper and red leaves scattered all around and a feeling of change in the air.

Already you can feel your body slowing down ,your breath deepening and everything softening.

For the next two days you will continue to deepen these feelings of restfulness and serenity in a beautiful setting with supportive practices.

If you are craving some peace and nourishment ,there are just a few spaces left so why not join us?

My Autumn roses, the last blooms in my garden are a reminder of the slow transition towards natures slumber.

And this slow transition means we too have periods of blooming and fading at this time of year. Some days we are full power alive and vital and other days we feel the call of the duvet!
This is ok, but having a gentle steady practice that helps us to balance our energy is so helpful.

The Svastha yoga approach to yoga is one which helps move us toward a state of being ‘established in one’s self’.so a feeling of presence, stability and clarity is what we are cultivating.

I am offering a number of opportunities to work with this over the next few months and all my October activities are on my website https://janecraggs.co.uk/events-workshops/.

Do get in touch if you would like to book onto any of these events.

Whether you are a recently qualified teacher or like me have been doing this for a very long time, it is always helpful to connect and share.

Now more than ever it can feel very challenging to be self employed and also to often be working in isolation.

I have been teaching now for over 25 years and mentoring teachers since 2011.

Please get in touch if you would like to book and I will send you the zoom link.

I just wanted to let you know that I now have 5 spaces available on this beautiful retreat. Quite a few people have had to drop out and I know times are tricky. That is why I have flexible payment plans that you can continue after the retreat is over.

Taking this tim for practice and peace is a long term gift to yourself ( or someone else) and it is the gift that keeps giving!
