Birthday celebrations at Hyde Park House!

One of the people we support, James, celebrated his birthday in style this week. He enjoyed a meal out at a local Greek restaurant with his mum before returning to Hyde Park House to continue the celebrations with cake and plenty of laughs with staff and peers.

James shared that he really enjoyed his birthday and said it was especially nice to celebrate outside of a hospital setting.

Today we are PROUD to celebrate International Women’s Day and the incredible women who make a difference across Northern Healthcare and in the lives of the people we support.

This year’s campaign theme, , highlights the power of support, encouragement and sharing opportunities

To mark the occasion, we asked some of the inspiring women across Northern Healthcare to share their advice, experiences and the women who inspire them. From encouraging others to find their voice, to recognising the importance of kindness, listening and lifting each other up, their insights reflect the strength and support within our organisation.

Happy International Women’s Day.

Supporting independence at Liberty House!

Since moving to Liberty House in October 2024, Wol has made fantastic progress on his journey towards greater independence. With support from staff, he has improved his English skills, developed healthier cooking habits to help manage his diabetes, and has even started attending appointments more independently.

Wol also enjoys playing football, watching films and volunteering at Radcliffe Borough Football Club, helping him build confidence and connections in the community. Looking ahead, Wol hopes to secure full-time employment and continue developing his skills.

Recently, one of the people we support at Olton Grange has been working on building their confidence and stepping out of their usual routine by getting involved in activities they enjoy.

With support from staff, they decided to create a handmade bouquet of flowers for someone special. Taking the lead on the project, they spent several hours outside of their room focusing on the arts and crafts activity and the results were amazing!

It’s been fantastic to see their confidence grow, with their Social Worker also recognising the progress they’ve made in building trust with peers and staff and engaging more with others.

A wonderful achievement - well done!

Two of the people we support from Radcliffe Lodge, Catherine and Tegan, baked biscuits and buns for a service buffet.

Tegan only moved into the service recently and has already been getting involved in some of her favourite activities. It’s been wonderful to see her settling in, building connections and enjoying time with everyone.

Moments like these are what supported living is all about - choice, confidence and feeling at home.

Northern Healthcare | Our Story

Northern Healthcare is a specialist provider of enhanced supported living services. Our multi-disciplinary teams care for people who may need day-to-day support due to their mental health, a learning disability or brain injury.

Established in 2013 with the opening of our first supported residential service, we have expanded across the UK and now have over 15 enhanced supported living facilities. We are privileged to be able to support our residents and we are dedicated to growing our reach across the UK, improving our residents’ quality of life and delivering the highest quality of care.

We work in partnership with external practitioners and community care teams to ensure robust risk management, and ultimately the best possible outcomes for all our residents.

Our aims are always as unique as each individual we support. We pride ourselves on our clinically led, recovery focused model, which provides individuals with access to high-quality nursing, occupational and psychological therapies, as well as dedicated 24-hour support. We develop care plans alongside our residents; their personal goals and aspirations are always at the heart of everything we do.
