It's World Poetry Day today & we're calling for any survivors of abuse to submit a piece of poetry that expresses their experiences. Please send your entries to kam@unchainedphoenix.co.uk - deadline is midnight 30th March. The winner will receive £50 & the top 10 submissions will be published in our 2021 anthology.

To all the mother's who are parenting during or post abuse by a partner I wish you a mother's day - so many women are incredible in spite of the trauma and suffering they have endured and that makes you a superhero in my eyes. And to all of you who have abusive/narcissistic mother's and had to reparent yourselves - I wish your inner nurturing parent a happy mother's day to acknowledge all those inner resources you have found and all that you have had to do to be the parent to yourself that you never had (but always deserved). Celebrate all that your inner mother has done to keep you safe and build back your strength.
