Here's a revealing article on the ways low back pain is often poorly treated around the world. In the UK, our guidelines recommend exercise and manual treatment from osteopaths and other registered providers. We are strongly advised against surgery and opioid painkillers. Sadly, these approaches are still being used for simple back pain, despite the poor benefits and many risks and side effects.
