Happy New Year all!

ooh I didn't realise it had been so long since I last posted! Last year seemed never ending but also as though it barely started??

We all know how tough the past few years have been, and the start of a new year can feel just as daunting.

You might be feeling anxious or stressed about returning to work, having to eventually socialise more, or change your routine.

Hypnotherapy is great for helping implement positive changes in your mind and body. If you want to try something new this year, keep an eye out for some upcoming posts!

Hypnotherapy is a form of guided relaxation and focused attention. It is completely safe, there’s no mind control, and it only works if you want it to work.
During this relaxed state, we can communicate with the subconscious mind where our long term memory, learned behaviours, experiences and beliefs to name a few things, are stored.

In this hypnotic state, we become more susceptible to positive suggestions, and it is here that we can reprogram negative thought patterns and behaviours, to positive ones. That is, if you want to. Remember, your subconscious mind will reject anything you do not want to change.

Hypnotherapy really can help you overcome anxiety, phobias, habits, improve confidence & self-esteem, and help you to take a step closer to achieving your full potential.

Mindfulness has been shown to build mental and emotional resilience through the creation of neural connections. It allows us to observe, witness and own our own experiences through bringing our thoughts into conscious awareness.

This gives us the opportunity to notice whether our thoughts are useful, and to create a positive change when they’re not.

Comfort Zones make us feel safe and secure. They allow us to create routines and patterns of behaviour that minimise stress and risk.

However, we gain more life experiences, knowledge about ourselves, and open doors to new opportunities when we step outside of our comfort zone. Change will become easier, and confidence will grow.

A small step away from your familiar routine is a great place to start. Hypnotherapy can help you gain confidence in being able to step out of your comfort zone. This is achieved by creating new positive thought patterns to replace those negative thoughts that might be holding you back!

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is a theory which states that as humans, we are motivated to fulfil our needs in a hierarchal order. When you take steps to understand yourself and your needs, you can begin to make progress in satisfying them, and move up the hierarchy towards self actualisation! This is where personal potential is fully realised.

Admittedly, this final state is a continual process, and throughout our lives, we go back and forth through each of the hierarchy’s. However, it is important to focus on your journey, accept yourself, don’t compare your needs to others, and take the time to find out what motivates you to strive forward!

These are brainwave patterns measured by an E.E.G machine, and we experience each state of mind throughout the day. If you found yourself at work today, daydreaming about the weekend, imagining being somewhere else, or just staring into space without realising, you’ve briefly experienced the hypnotic state! During hypnosis we work with the Alpha state of mind which is where you become more relaxed and open to positive suggestions. These positive suggestions which are accepted subconsciously at Alpha, are then actioned consciously at Beta.

Our subconscious mind makes up around 90% of our total brain function. From ages 0-7, our subconscious mind is being formed. Whatever we experience during this time, goes directly into the subconscious without being questioned. Stored negative experiences, or negative beliefs about ourselves, can affect our confidence, self esteem, and how we form relationships with others. One way Hypnotherapy can help with this, is by working directly with the subconscious to change negative thought patterns.

Today is National Su***de Prevention Day. It’s something we should be aware of not just today, but everyday. If you’re feeling suicidal, you might be feeling alone, hopeless or numb. You might have feelings of despair, and you might think that no one will be able to help you. But please know that you are not alone. Talking really does help take some of the weight off your shoulders. There is hope, and there are so many people and organisations that can help if you are feeling that the only way to stop the pain is to end your life. Know that you are not alone, and that you are loved and somebody is waiting for your call. Whether that be someone you know or not, there is always someone to talk to.💛

If you've seen hypnosis on TV, it's an audience member sitting on a stage, being told they're feeling very sleepy (sometimes assisted with a swinging pocket watch), and eventually being made to walk around like a chicken... You'll be glad to know that Hypnotherapy is not mind control. It cannot make you do this unless you want to...and if you want to do that, that's fine!

It's simply a form of deep relaxation, designed to help you ignore external distractions, and focus on internal experiences.

The idea is to work with the subconscious mind to change patterns of behaviour. For example, if you feel stressed in certain situations, Hypnotherapy can help create a new way of coping in that situation, through use of positive suggestions.

You are in control the entire time, and if you choose to break the hypnotic state, you are free to do so.

Message for more info, or if you would like to try a hypnotic indicator to see how susceptible to hypnosis you are!😃
