From the stunning halls of Oxford to the inspiring voices filling them, today is a reminder of how far trauma recovery has come.

It’s not just about research and theory anymore.
It’s about embodiment, safety, and lived transformation.

I feel so inspired to bring these insights back to our own work and community.

12/11/2025

Kicking off the first day of the Trauma Conference in Oxford, surrounded by some of the world’s leading voices in trauma recovery.

As I stood inside this beautiful chapel, I couldn’t help but feel a quiet sense of hope.
Because trauma isn’t just a story of pain, it’s a story of resilience, safety, and coming back home to yourself.

Today is about connection, learning, and remembering that healing isn’t theory, it’s lived, embodied, and shared.

Here’s to a day of transformation, curiosity, and heart.

So many women think healing means “getting over it.”
But what if it’s not about erasing the past, it’s about reconnecting with yourself?

Healing isn’t about being calm all the time or pretending it never hurt.
It’s about learning to feel safe in your own body, to breathe without fear, and to finally rest in your own skin again.

In my free live session | Healing From Trauma | happening on 10th November,
we’ll explore what real healing looks and feels like gentle, embodied, and deeply human.

What you’ll learn:
✨ How trauma lives in the body (even when the mind feels “fine”)
✨ How to regulate, not suppress, your emotions
✨ And how to finally move through instead of just “move on.”

Because peace isn’t found by forgetting, it’s found by coming home.

Ever notice how even when things are finally calm… your body still feels tense?
Like you should be relaxing, but something inside just won’t switch off?

That’s not you being “too sensitive.”
That’s your nervous system still living in protection mode the after-effect of years spent surviving instead of feeling safe.

But here’s the good news: safety isn’t something you wait for; it’s something you can relearn.
And I’ll be showing you exactly how to do that in my free live session Healing From Trauma on 10th November.

We’ll talk about:
✨ Why your body stays alert even when life is calm
✨ How to gently regulate your nervous system
✨ Simple steps to feel grounded and at peace again

Spots are limited because every woman deserves to feel seen, heard, and safe.

You can look fine and still feel on edge.
That’s not “overreacting.”
That’s your body remembering what your mind wants to forget.

Trauma isn’t just what happened; it’s what still lives inside you.
The tension, the overthinking, the exhaustion, it’s your nervous system stuck in protection mode.

But here’s the truth:
You can teach your body that it’s safe again.

Ever tried to cry… and nothing comes out?
That lump in your throat, the heaviness in your chest, but no tears.
It’s not because you’re “emotionally cold.” It’s your body’s freeze response.

Here’s what’s really going on 👇

đź’« When your nervous system has faced too much stress or emotional pain,
it sometimes says, “Stop. We can’t process more right now.”

That’s your body protecting you, not failing you.
It’s pressing pause so you don’t get overwhelmed again.

So next time this happens:
Don’t force yourself to cry.
Try grounding, feel your feet, breathe slowly, place a hand on your chest.
Remind yourself, “It’s safe to feel when I’m ready.”

Tears will come when your body knows it’s safe to let go, not when you demand them.
Healing isn’t about forcing emotions; it’s about giving them space to return.

That smile you wear when everything’s falling apart?
💬 That’s not strength, that’s survival.

Here’s what most women don’t realize 👇

✨ Survival mode looks like:
– Smiling when you actually want to cry.
– Saying “I’m fine” because it feels safer than explaining.
– Holding it all together because falling apart isn’t an option.

But here’s the truth…
You’re not broken. You’re just stuck in protection mode.
Your nervous system is doing its best to keep you safe not peaceful.

🩷 Real strength isn’t pretending you’re okay.
It’s learning to pause, breathe, and let your body know it’s safe again.

If this hits home, this is your reminder
You don’t have to smile through the storm anymore.
You’re allowed to rest.

Ever notice how hard it is to answer simple questions like “What do you want?”
It’s not that you don’t know, it’s that you’ve learned not to ask yourself anymore.

When you’ve spent years tuning in to everyone else’s emotions, your brain starts filtering your own desires as “unsafe.” It’s a quiet form of self-abandonment, one that feels normal until you realize how disconnected you’ve become.

Reconnecting with what you want starts small giving yourself permission to pause before saying yes, checking in before reacting, asking “what do I need right now?”

It’s not selfish. It’s self-return.

✨ Your wants deserve a voice too.
If this resonates, send a DM let’s talk about how to rebuild trust with your own needs again.

Ever been asked “What do you want?” and your mind just… goes blank? 🫤

You’re not confused, you’re disconnected.
When you’ve spent years putting everyone else first, your nervous system learns that it’s safer to keep quiet than to risk conflict or disappointment.

That’s why even simple choices — what you want for dinner, what feels right for you — can suddenly feel overwhelming. It’s not that you don’t know… it’s that your body doesn’t feel safe enough to let you know.

Healing starts when you rebuild that inner trust slowly, gently by reminding yourself it’s safe to choose again. 🫶

Because your voice never disappeared. It’s just been waiting for permission to be heard.
