🎉 Exciting News! 🐘✨

We’re thrilled to share that our beautiful elephant sculpture will be going on display at EleFest at Blackpool Zoo!

📅 Friday 10th July
⏰ 6–10pm

EleFest is a fantastic evening event held at the zoo, featuring a lively mix of stalls, performers, and activities — with around 3,000 people expected to attend. It’s going to be an amazing celebration and we’re so excited for our elephant to be part of it.

After the festival, she’ll take pride of place at the entrance of the zoo, where she will be on display for visitors to enjoy for a few weeks throughout the summer. ☀️

🐘 But she still needs a name!

We’d love your help — drop your name suggestions in the comments below. The person who suggests the chosen name will win a goody bag of treats!

🏆 The winning name will be announced Easter weekend.

🎁 The goody bag can be collected from Boathouse Café, Alexandra Park, Oldham.

We can’t wait to see your ideas!

Ben attends sessions at The Boathouse Cafe and Creative Hub.
Pure Coffee

Nikki our Project Support Worker at the boathouse Cafe, gave this amazing feedback on Ben's recently progress -
“Ben has excelled in confidence since at the Boathouse baking group he has worked hard and has expanded his skills to work front of house by making coffee using the barrister.
Ben also helps out in the kitchen by portioning up the Soups that have been made and mastering the dish washer. Ben’s other duties include re-stocking the fridges with drinks, checking stock and replenishing the chocolate and crisp stand. Ben is
polite and engages well with staff, clients and paying customers. He is a great addition to the team here.

Amazing work ben, keep improving them skills we are so incredibly proud of how far you have come!

Over the past year, our amazing Upcycling Group has been working on some truly special projects within the community ♻️💙

We’ve had the privilege of recreating chairs using football shirts for Rochdale AFC Community Trust — giving treasured shirts a brand new life in a creative and meaningful way.

Alongside this, we also took part in a fantastic project creating 2 flags for Dale 1907.

But the creativity didn’t stop there…

Our wonderful client Nathan went above and beyond. Using the leftover football shirts that were donated to us for recycling, he independently designed and created handmade teddy bears and small cushions 🧸

After carefully crafting each item, Nathan generously donated them to Dale 1907 to help raise funds for their charity.

We are incredibly proud of his initiative, creativity and kindness. This is what community spirit is all about 💙

Well done Nathan – and thank you to everyone who continues to support our upcycling journey!
