Before vs After Surgery📸

This patient kindly allowed us to share their transformation following weight loss surgery.

The difference is more than physical — it represents improved health, confidence, and day-to-day quality of life. Every journey looks a little different, but with the right support and commitment, the results can be truly life-changing.

We’re proud to have been part of their story and to see them thriving post-surgery.

Working With Your GP After Surgery🤝

Your GP continues to play an important role in your care after weight loss surgery.

They’ll help monitor your overall health, manage any medications, and support your long-term wellbeing alongside your surgical team. Regular check-ins ensure that everything — from nutrition and blood tests to recovery progress — stays on track.

Good communication between your GP and specialist team helps you get the most out of your surgery and maintain lasting results.

Travelling Home After Surgery🚗

When it’s time to leave hospital, most patients are well enough to travel home the same day they’re discharged. It’s best to have a friend or family member collect you, as you won’t be able to drive yourself.

The journey should be kept as comfortable as possible — take breaks if it’s a longer trip, and follow the advice given by your care team.

Getting home safely is the first step to focusing fully on your recovery.

Fit Notes After Surgery📄

After weight loss surgery, you may need time off work to recover. A fit note (sometimes called a sick note) can be provided to confirm this for your employer.

The length of time needed varies from person to person and depends on your recovery and the type of work you do — but it’s usually around 2–3 weeks.

Your care team will guide you on what’s appropriate and ensure you have the right documentation in place.

Let’s Talk About Fear of Regain✨

Nicola and I sat down to discuss a concern we hear often — the fear of regaining weight after surgery.

It’s a very real worry, and completely normal to feel this way. But the truth is, surgery is just one part of the journey. Long-term success comes from building healthy habits, having the right support, and knowing you’re not alone in the process.

We’re here to share honest guidance and reassurance — because this journey is about progress, not perfection. 🙌

Megan’s Story – Part 5💬

In this part of her journey, Megan talks about why she chose our team for her weight loss surgery.

For her, it was about feeling reassured, supported, and confident in the care she would receive — from the very first conversation through to aftercare. Knowing she had a team she could trust made all the difference in taking that big step forward.

Her story is a reminder that choosing the right team is just as important as choosing the surgery itself.
