Post-Surgery Sensitivities✨

It’s not uncommon for some patients to notice new food sensitivities or changes in how their body reacts to certain ingredients after weight loss surgery.

These aren’t always “true allergies,” but rather shifts in tolerance as your digestive system adapts. Listening to your body, introducing foods gradually, and seeking guidance when something doesn’t feel right can make this phase much easier to navigate.

If you ever feel unsure, we’re here to support you and help you understand what’s normal — and what may need a closer look.

After a full day in theatre, I always take a moment before heading out.

A chance to think about what went well, what could be better, and the responsibility that comes with the work.

Long days, but important ones.

The Importance of Aftercare

After weight loss surgery, your follow-up care is just as important as the procedure itself.

For the first two years, regular check-ins help us monitor your progress, support your nutrition, review blood tests, and guide you through each stage of recovery and long-term adjustment. These appointments are designed to keep you safe, informed, and confident as your body continues to change.

Consistent aftercare isn’t just a formality — it’s the foundation of long-term success. We’re here to walk with you every step of the way. 💙

Let’s Talk Metabolic Adaptation✨

Nicola and I sat down to discuss a topic that often surprises people after weight loss surgery — metabolic adaptation.

As you lose weight, your metabolism naturally adjusts. It’s your body’s way of finding balance, but it can sometimes make progress feel slower over time. Understanding this process helps you manage expectations and make informed choices along the way.

We’re here to explain what’s really happening beneath the surface — and how the right nutrition, activity, and mindset can help support long-term success. 🙌

Grateful for Our Patients💬

Hearing from patients who’ve had a positive experience with our team is always incredibly rewarding.

Every review reminds us of the trust placed in our care and the real difference this surgery can make — not just physically, but in confidence and quality of life.

Thank you to all our patients who take the time to share their journey with us💙

👟👟👟 There’s endless excitement about new surgical tech…meanwhile, these shoes quietly get on with doing all the actual walking.

They’ve stood through marathon operating lists and 12 hour cases. They’ve been a part of thousands of patient journeys and have the creases to prove it!

Not smart. Not connected. Not AI-enabled. Just reliable.

What's your most underrated piece of kit?

Getting Back to Normal After Surgery✨

As recovery continues, patients often ask — when will life start to feel normal again?

The truth is, “normal” slowly returns in stages. Energy levels improve, routines settle, and eating becomes easier and more intuitive with time. It’s all part of your body and mind adapting to the changes.

Everyone’s journey is a little different, but with patience, guidance, and support, life does find its new rhythm — often better than before. 🙌

Dawn’s Story💬

Dawn shared how her weight loss surgery journey has been about far more than physical change.

For her, it’s been a complete shift in mindset — learning to view food, health, and self-care in a new light. She talks openly about building healthier habits, finding balance, and feeling more in control of her choices.

It’s a reminder that transformation isn’t only what you see on the outside — it’s the confidence, understanding, and peace of mind that grow along the way💙

Before vs After📸

Another incredible transformation — a patient who’s worked hard, stayed committed, and embraced every part of their journey after surgery.

The change you see here isn’t just about appearance — it’s about restored health, confidence, and quality of life. We’re so proud to see how far they’ve come and grateful to have played a part in their journey.

What to Expect in the Early Post-Op Phase✨

The first few days after weight loss surgery are all about rest, recovery, and gentle progress.

It’s completely normal to feel tired, a little sore, and to take things slowly — your body is healing and adjusting to important changes. During this phase, you’ll be supported closely by your care team to make sure you’re comfortable, hydrated, and on track.

Small steps now lay the foundation for your long-term success. Take it one day at a time — recovery is a journey, not a race🤍

Let’s Talk Counting Calories✨

Nicola and I sat down to chat about a common question we hear after weight loss surgery — should you still be counting calories?

It’s easy to get caught up in the numbers, but after surgery, your focus shifts toward nourishment, portion awareness, and listening to your body’s signals. Counting can have its place, but it’s not the whole picture.

We’re here to help patients understand what truly matters long term — balance, confidence, and a healthy relationship with food. 🙌
